"I....I.....I'm sorry sir" I said shivering with fear.
"Yeah,Yeah, that's what all of them say!" Said the man. "Anyway,what's your name kid?"
"D..Dennis" I spoke quietly while he was pacing back and forth on the gravel.
"Speak up kid!" Said the mysterious man.
"Dennis" I screamed! " What is yours?"
"Steve" said the man while reaching out to grab something out of his man purse. I stepped back with fear hoping it wasn't a weapon or another explosion device or something. "And, This is my dog,Whisper!" Said Steve proudly, with the burning cottage still in the background. He looked back. "Well, we should start heading out or this fire is going to reach us too." I got of the rock trying to balance my knees to hold my body weight up. "W..where are we g..g..going?" I asked still shivering in fear.
"You'll see when we get there" proclaimed the man! "Ruff Ruff" barked Whisper Steve tried to settle him down but he couldn't quit growling and barking at me in anger!
I threw my hands up shaking my head back and forth, back and forth trying to make the obnoctiouse wolf to shut up! Finally, Steve whacked him on the nose and Whisper quickly stopped but, on the way to the place Steve was taking me I could see his pet giving me the evil eye every time I inched a bit towards his owner. After a few hours I started to hallucinate. I dreamed of my parents holding my hand with me on this whole journey encouraging me to go on and never give up like they always do.
I thought that I was still in my cottage safe in sound, playing with my toys while dad killed cows and mom knitted Aunt Suzy another scarf as sorry gift that we could not go to her Birthday party.
I hallucinated (but, seriously someone tell me how to spell it) that everything in front of me was how it used to be!
There was always cattle eating the pretty flowers but, it seemed like the flowers always grew back! Not a dark cloud in the sky nor, in anyone's mind that there was ever going to be. Steve shook my shoulder! "You ok kid?"
I nodded trying not to fall asleep again. A few hours later we arrived I thought it was me being crazy again but, it wasn't! I never thought it would be the most beautiful sight in my life right now!
"Here we are!"
