The book follows Quinn's journey as she relocates to New York, seeking a fresh environment to embrace. As a result of her decision, she encounters Juwan, a man whose life experiences differ greatly from hers, and their love story blossoms from that point onward. Although the two are opposites and they face multiple challenges along the way, there is a very undeniable connection between them.

This book was just perfect! I feel like my summarised description of the book doesn't even do it justice and readers would just have to read to experience the story.
I love how the book is reminiscent of 90's black love films and makes reference of settings and scenarios you'd find in those kinds of movies. I also love how the author didn't force their love story to be too perfect and dreamy, she wrote realistically and allowed the characters to grow into their feelings.
There were parts in the book that had me on the edge of my seat and that's not even an exaggeration. I went through multiple emotions reading it and I will say that the writer's work is immaculate from the descriptions, to the dialogue and just the overall sequencing of events.
