Chapter 15 ~The Dark Side

Emily's POV:

As I stood by Harry's car waiting for him to exit the flat I felt the presence of someone around me. I slowly turned my head around. The sidewalks and roads were completely empty. I must be hallucinating!, I thought. I believed that thought till I felt two cold hands on my shoulders. "So we meet again!", a cold voice spoke. Before I could scream and run away I felt something heavy hit my head before I collapsed to the hard cement road.

Veronica's POV:

I followed Emily from her coach's house to the boys flat. I hid in trees and bushes as I continued to stalk her. After she arrived at the boys flat I decided to wait by the alley with my business partner waiting for Harry.

You see I have tracking devices on the boys. They don't even know it! They are planted on their wallets. I can always track where they are. I had a tracking device on Emily but that awful Jason kid destroyed it. Clearly he doesn't care about his life. Emily went to see Harry even though she was not allowed to see him. That can only mean one thing. Jason told his coach the truth. He will pay for this.

I crouched behind Harry's car waiting for one of them to walk outside. "Bye!", yelled the boys as the door shut. I peeked from under the car to see Emily's feet walking towards Harry's car. I gave my partner Matt the signal and we slowly crept out from behind the car. Matt picked up his bat, while I grabbed Emily's shoulders. "So we meet again!", I spoke before Matt slammed his bat on top of Emily's head knocking her unconscious.

"Come on! Pick her up and let's get out of here!", I shouted. Matt picked her up and followed me down the street to where my car was hidden. "Throw her in and drive to the farmhouse!", I commanded. "Where are you going?", Matt asked. "I have some unfinished business to take care of!", I said before running off to meet Jason outside of the rink.

I ran through the park trying to make it on time. I quickened my pace as I saw Harry's Black Range Rover. I quickly threw my body onto the grass trying to hide from his view. As soon as his car passed me I got up from the ground and continued my journey. I ran another half a mile before arriving at my destination.

I have been watching Jason for a while now. I know that he walks out the back door instead of the front. I decided to hide behind one of the broken Zamboni's parked outside the back door of the rink. 

Jason's POV:

I had an awesome practice today. I landed my triple Axel a few times. It was amazing. I wonder if Emily is home yet! I can't wait to tell her the news! I opened the back door and unlocked my car in the parking lot. As I approached the parking lot my jacket got caught under the Zamboni. That's weird!, I thought. After I pulled my jacket out I walked towards my car and threw my skates in the back and jumped into the front seat. As I turned the keys into the ignition I heard a familiar voice. "Bravo! You told your coach and your precious Emily likes you now!", Veronica whispered.

My breathing got heavy. Was I hallucinating? I swore I heard her speak. I looked to the back of my car to see her laying under the blanket in the back. "How?", I asked shocked. "You unlocked your car!", she smirked. My heart beat quickened. I was going to die. "Get out of my car Veronica!", I warned. "No! I want to stay!", she commanded. "Listen! LEAVE EMILY OUT OF THIS! DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT WITH ME, BUT LEAVE HER ALONE!", I yelled. "Oh, but that's no fun!!", Veronica whined.

"Listen Jason! I am making a compromise for you. I'm not going to kill you for your mistake. Instead I am going to use Emily as a little experiment. She will return home tonight. You tell anyone about what happened and she will spend an extra night with me. Got it?", Veronica informed. "You can't do that!", I challenged. "Oh, but I can! It's a free country!", Veronica said with a grin.

"You're sick!", I spatted. "I may be, but it is not my fault you couldn't keep her away from Harry.", Veronica said. "Tell me where Emily is!", I warned. "Sorry! No can do! All I can tell you is that she will return back tonight. Oh and if you try to find her there will be more consequences. Remember I am always watching you", She said before jumping out of my car and sprinting away in the distance.

"What did I do?", I yelled. I shut my eyes tight. What is she going to do to Emily? I put the girl I love in danger! Why did I ever have to get involved with Veronica? Just because I wanted to make sure she didn't fall in love with Harry! I am so stupid. An idiot! What am I going to tell Mr. Johnson? He will be sure to ask where Em is. I will never forgive myself for this! Ever...

Emily's POV:

My eyes felt heavy as I peeled them open. My arms and legs were tied to a chair. My body started to panic. "HELLO?", I yelled. No one answered. I was stuck in a barn tied to a chair. How did I get here?, I thought. "HELP!", I screamed. Yet no one answered. I was all alone in a barn. Was I gonna die?, I thought. My breathing quickened as the barn door opened.
