Nia POV I sat on my living room couch going through my instagram reels waiting for someone thing of interest to pop up. I zone out while looking at them to see that my friend, Maya was calling me, I sigh and answer "HEYYY, girl!!" Maya says in an excited tone "hey Maya, what's up?" I ask "well, I just got invited to this pool party and it's gonna be lit but I'm tryna see if you wanna go?" Maya says "I would go, but like I'm not invited..." I say, knowing I just really don't wanna go. "Well that's the thing, I can bring a plus one, oh and the party is tonight so you better look good I'll pick you up for it later." Maya says excited "okay I'll see you later Maya." I say sighing "don't be such a downer, and look you might finally get you a man." Maya says "I don't need a man Maya I'm good." I say leaning back onto my couch "oh yeah, then a girl." Maya giggles "you know that's not what I mean Maya." I say face palming "okay girl, you know I'm joking with you I'll see you later." Maya says hanging up the phone.
I sigh and lean back in the couch knowing it was a foolish thing to go to that pool party, I'm gonna have to buy a new swimsuit because my old ones are trash. I put on my slides and grab my keys and go to the store. I Exeter the store and look around for something cute I finally find something after a few minutes of repeatedly saying nope.

I mean it's not the best decision but it's cute, plus it's hot outside. I grab the bathing suit and purchase it and leave. I try it on and do a 360 damn I look good. I put the bathing suit on and wait for Maya to arrive. When she finally gets to my house she take a the slowest time ever "Girlll you look good." Maya says "so do youuuu." I say grabbing my purse and going to the car. "Shii, I don't have a chance with the guys with how fine you look." She says opening the door for me "girl stop being so extra, I'm not everyone's type." I remark rolling my eyes "yeah but that ass is." Maya laughs "shut up." I laugh. Maya finally gets into the drives seat and we put on our seatbelts and drive to the party.
