Chapter 1 *Well that didn't work as planned...*
‘No. That can’t be it. I can’t be falling for him.’ I started freaking out to myself. “Kennedy, are you okay?” The sound of her voice made me jump. “Oh, hi, Cienna, and yes I’m fine.” I lied. I wasn’t about to say No I’m awful, because I just realized I’m in love with your ex. “Well okay, goodbye then.” I don’t think she believed me, but it’s okay. I will be eventually, I thought to myself as she walked off to her car. I had to get over this. ‘I couldn’t, I wouldn’t fall for Logan.’ My brain argued. ‘But you want to.’ My heart argued back. I would not let myself do this. I rushed to grab my phone when I got to my car. ‘Brenna! OMW I’m fallin for Ci’s ex!!!’ I tapped my phone anxiously as I waited for her to reply. Finally! My phone buzzed. ‘Oh hon. Why?’ ‘IDK! Well, it could be because he is smart, funny, and sweet, or at least he was to Ci.’ ‘Well what is keeping you from him?’ ‘He is Ci’s EX! She hates him! And I would feel like I was betraying her.’ ‘If she’s a true friend, she’ll accept your feelings.’ ‘Yeah, but if I was a true friend, I wouldn’t have fallen for him.’ ‘Kennedy! I am pretty sure you can’t change how you feel.’ ‘You are right, hopefully she will agree! Wish me luck.’ I snapped my phone shut and drove to Cienna’s house. I walked in the Mark’s house. “Hey Mrs. M! Is Ci in her room?” “Yes Kennedy dear, go on up.” “Thanks.” I rushed up to Cienna’s room. “Hey girl!” “Hey Kennedy! What are you doing here?” “Ci, we need to talk.” “Okay, what about?” “Logan.” “Logan? Why?” “Because, I have feelings for him.” “You LIKE him! You cannot like him. He is my ex. He is a jerk to me and YOU LIKE HIM!? How could you do this to me?” “I am so sorry. I can’t help it. I sure wish I didn’t, but I can’t stop. That is why I am coming to you first.” “I don’t CARE! Now GET OUT!” Cienna screamed at me as I rushed out of the house. I couldn’t help but start to cry as I got in my car. I quickly dialed Brenna. “She took it awfully!” I sobbed in to the phone. She HATES me.” “I’m sure she doesn’t hate you.” Brenna said softly. “Well I’m sure she does.” “Kennedy, go home and I will meet you there in ten. Okay?” “Okay. I’ll see you there. Thanks.”
When I arrived home, I saw Brenna's car in the drive way. I walked in the house to have her pounce on me with a hug- exactly what I needed! "Oh Brenna! She hates me! I didn't even say I was gonna act on my crush and she kicked me out! It was awful!" I spit it out so quickly, I'm sure she had no clue what I was saying. "Oh Kennedy! I'm sure she won't hate you forever, and if she does, she isn't a good friend." Brenna said soothingly. She then pulled me to my room where she turned on the tv to get my mind off of things, and before I knew it I was laughing at Lorelei and Rory on 'Gilmore Girls'
