Shall We Dance?

When I heard the King of Hearts ask Keagan what caused the delay, I gulped when the King and I made eye contact, especially since his gaze was both haunting and charming. Even though I could have used my time alone as a way to ease my thoughts some more, I was starting to feel nervous about meeting a gruesome fate, since I was the one who caused the delay. Not only that, but my brain was flooded with more confusion since the King of Hearts really looked like Emmett, but I tried to calm down about it. Besides, with a lot of other characters in Thunderland looking like members of Celtic Thunder, that kind of sentiment should be routine by now. Anyway, I gulped when the King of Hearts approached the carriage before holding out his hand, which I took before he helped me exit the carriage.

After introducing himself as Kennedy, he promised that his kingdom was very different from the Kingdom of Hearts in Wonderland, and he forgave me for being the reason for his brother's delay. When Keagan told me that I could do anything I wanted due to my celebrity status, I blushed as I tried to think of what to do, which is when they suggested taking me on a tour. Not wanting to turn down a tour of a castle, I agreed before each King linked elbows with me before we entered the castle together, and both of them were delighted by my wide-eyed awe.

We had visited most of the rooms in the castle when Kennedy took us into the grand ballroom, and my eyes popped at how lovely everything looked. It was as if I had stepped into a fairytale, and while I felt myself fill with both excitement and nervousness, I guess the Kings could tell that I was a little shy. When Kennedy asked if the room was too fancy for me, I shook my head and admitted that it made me want to dance, but I hadn't danced with anyone in a while. I thought the Kings would refuse my idea, so you could probably guess how surprised I was when Keagan asked if we should dance together, and I immediately accepted. As Kennedy got a music machine started, Keagan bowed as I curtsied to him before we got into a proper position, and that's when the magic began.

I hadn't danced with royalty since I was in high school, and that was with Cinderella's Prince at Disney World, so having the chance to dance with a real King was a major improvement. Keagan was quite a lovely dancer, even twirling me under his arm as we floated across the ballroom, and I couldn't help but giggle whenever he spun me around. While there was nothing wrong with the lads' routines, it felt amazing to be dancing with a spring in my step, so dancing with royalty was definitely helping me. Even though the song we were dancing to was the sad "Isle of Innisfree,"  Keagan made sure that I was smiling throughout our dance.

As soon as the song was over, Keagan bowed as I curtsied again before Kennedy took his place, even kissing my hand as he bowed. After getting our arms in the right positions, I heard the next song starting up and smiled as I recognized it as "Song For The Mira," which I thought was the perfect song for a waltz. That was exactly what followed, and if it weren't for the fact that I was a simple guest and he was the King, I felt like I was actually dancing at a royal ball. Of course, my outfit would have needed a major upgrade, but it didn't matter at that moment... I was just happy to be dancing with someone. Once the song was over, Kennedy twirled me around before kissing my hand as we finished, and I smiled as I curtsied to him before Keagan applauded our dance.

"Ah, Miss Lydia... we should be applauding you, since you are a marvelous dancer!"

Keagan chuckled before both he and Kennedy started clapping for me, and I blushed before curtsying. The dancing lasted for quite a few more songs, ranging from "Galway Girl" and ""When Irish Eyes are Smiling" to "Carrickfergus" and"This is the Moment," and the Kings were impressed with my knowledge of every song. Of course, I would know the songs due to being such a massive fan of Celtic Thunder before and since joining them, but I kept that inside as we continued to dance. It was after a few songs that I started to feel sleepy, and when I asked if I could rest anywhere, both Kings took my hands and led me away to a changing room.

After a couple of servants helped me change into a nightgown, I followed them to a lovely guest bedroom, where Kennedy helped me get my shoes off before Keagan tucked me in. When they asked if I wanted anything before going to sleep, I asked if the two of them could sing me a lullaby before they looked at each other and nodded. As they sat at the foot of the bed and rubbed my feet through the sheets, I listened as Keagan and Kennedy alternated parts during "An Irish Lullaby" before feeling worn-down before they reached the final chorus. I did feel what seemed like a kiss on the top of my head from both of the Kings, and I smiled a little as I drifted off to dreamland...or so I thought.

That was the case until I heard a door opening nearby.
