synopsis : in which the reader
finds themselves thinking about
their past relationship with Jenna.𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐄 lonesome months had passed , five lonesome months constantly thinking about the girl who told you a lie and completely walked out of your life.
Nine months without the girl who claimed she was going to California just for a little bit in order to grow her career, guaranteeing you she would return shortly.
Nine months without the girl who told you that you'd always be her number one and she'd always love and be there for you.
Nine months without the girl that told you lies upon lies, yet you believed them because you loved her and desperately sought for the love she could rarely return.
You'd claim Jenna was an amazing girlfriend and that she loved you, when deep down she was more focused on other things rather than your relationship.
Whether it was another acting gig , choosing her friends over you , forgetting important dates , or simply canceling your plans just to do something else. It was obvious Jenna did not give you one hundred percent of herself.
No matter how much you devoted your time , efforts and self into the relationship. It was hard for Jenna to do the same, and you forgave her for it each time.
You told yourself that she had a lot on her mind , or that it was just her busy schedule leading to into forgetting things, mostly the things related to you.
Normally , Jenna always remembered everything about everyone she knew. Birthdays , favorite animals , favorite colors , zodiacs — anything she was told by a friend she remembered.
Yet when it came down to you , Jenna didn't feel the need to remember most of the things you told her. Sure it hurt when she'd ask you when your birthday was or would have to ask you your favorite colors.
You loved Jenna wholeheartedly and almost always forgave her immediately whenever she hurt your feelings , yet you wished she put as much effort into your relationship as she did her friendships.
The day Jenna left, you remembered it as clear as day.
Mainly because she didn't even bother telling you she'd be leaving. That day you showed up to her house one afternoon and found her in the middle of packing up — her face didn't hold any emotion as she watched you walk into her home with a face full of confusion.
Instead she continued to pack and listen as you asked her questions about what she was doing along with where she was going.
Jenna took a moment to pause before telling you that she'd be in California for a while , just to get more acting gigs.
In that moment you weren't sure how to react or what to say about what Jenna had just told you — you did however feel a pang of hurt in your heart because it felt as if she had no plan to tell you whatsoever.
Jenna then proceeded to tell you that in a few months time , she'd come back for you — and you of course believed her on the spot.
However you soon began to feel like a fool.
The first couple of weeks Jenna was gone, she face timed you and texted you often. You'd text on a daily basis to check on each other and she'd talk about her day while you'd listen and give feedback if necessary.
As months bypassed , your communication with one another slowly died down — turning into barely one phone call a week, and her leaving your texts on delivered or read.
Then eventually, your contact dropped completely. Jenna stopped calling and texting , and would rarely answer you. Making it obvious she had other and better things to do with her new friends — that she posted on instagram with all the time.
The only time you'd get a message from Jenna was when something in her week went wrong and she desperately needed someone to vent to.
It took you a while to realize that Jenna didn't actually enjoy talking to you, only your advice and how you could help her better herself.
It hurt when you finally realized, but when you did. You found yourself blocking Jenna on every social media platform — along with muting your conversation with her through text so you'd no longer get notifications for when she'd text you.
Letting go of Jenna was one of the hardest things you had ever done, you missed her but truthfully she was no good for you.
All you ever wanted was to be enough for her, but now you were more than sure that nothing could ever be enough for the Ortega girl you once knew and loved.
