You know, Isaac lives not too far from my neighborhood.
Rats.
Yeah, I've known that for a while, but it always bothers me to see him pass my house. My neighborhood is the main street, after all. But still. He gets on my nerves.
Carla, a Hispanic girl next door, has a HUGE crush on him. But she's home schooled, so not much can be done about that. She always nags me to give him things, like love letters and flowers and chocolates. Of course it's her that's the sender, but I knew Isaac would take it the wrong way and convince the whole school it was me who sent the crap.
So not me.
So yes, the next day at school the principal was not that happy to see me.
"Are you serious, Miss Adams? On the first day?"
I shrug and keep walking.
Greg comes up behind me.
"Look who got in trouble!" He whispers. I hit him really hard on the arm, and keep walking.
I sat swim next to Chelsea in class.
She was giggling and blushing and all that girly stuff."What is wrong with you?" I ask.
"Greg asked me out!! That means I'm to single!"
"Did you say yes to him?"
"Um, DUH!!"
She keeps giggling and stealing glances at him. He waves and I turn around. I'm so done with this.
I raise my hand.
"Mrs. Conroy, may I get a new seat?"
She raises her eyebrows.
"Okay.... Greg, you and Mia trade seats."That was not any better. Now they were flirting with each other nonstop. EVEN DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE!!!:! I groaned and put my head down. This was going to be the worst school year ever. Like, seriously, what could happen next?
"Whoa--- who's this babe?"
Oh no.
Sitting next to me was Isaac Holland.
When he saw that it was me, he quickly stopped smirking. It was my turn to smirk now.
"So you think I'm hot, Holland?"
"Never in my wildest dreams, Adams."
I smile and flipped my hair in his face.
"Whatever you say, Isaiah."
"Okay, Maya."
We both glared at each other. He hated being called Isaiah, and I hated being called Maya. We sure knew each other well. But don't get all "aw so cute" or "look at them!" Because we hate each other. Beyond hating the other ones guts, more like heart. If that makes any sense. I truly truly truly (x100) hate Isaac. And there would be no one that would be able to make me change how I feel about that.
