After chemistry, our teacher made an announcement.
"We'll be starting a project, and it will require partners," she paused and held up a box. "I'll let you guys draw numbers. There are two of each number, so find your match."
It was a really childish method of partner-picking and was used in middle school. But it worked. We didn't always use this box-partner thing, but I guess in chemistry partners and judgement were important.
I watched Tim Michelson pick a number.
"What'd you get?"
He groaned. "8."
After he said that, I heard Bailey squeal.(She obviously had a crush on him. But she's really annoying tbh)
I finally got my number.
I carefully unfolded my slip of paper.
12.
I look around the room to see if I could connect with anyone who might also have 12.
Mia looked in my direction.
She turned away, then quickly swung back. Back pains. I stifled a laugh. I twirled my paper in the air. She squinted. I held it out for her to see. She slapped her forehead and grumbled something. Bailey looked at her and whispered something in her ear.Mia raises her hand and asked the teacher something. I watch her shake her head. Mia groans. Way to be a sophomore and a role model *smirking emoji*.
"Alright, find your matcher."
Mia walks straight towards me.Slowly.
She stands about three feet away from me. I look at her.
"What?" She snaps.
"What nombre(Spanish maybe?) are you?"
"12." She turns 360. I laugh and flip through my textbook. While my teacher talked about the project, I caught Ryan West's eye. We were doing the beard challenge. See who could grow the longest beard basically. Kinda gross, but if I win, then hey, free 20 bucks.
Anyways...
Ryan gave me a glare. After class, I went over to talk to him.
"What's wrong, dude?"
He punched me in the arm.
"You lucky man. I got Bri. She has so many braces, her mouth is basically metal!"
"She's kinda pretty."
"Lord, no. Mia is a goddess." He peeked over at her multiple times.
"Ew, heck no. Mia is an idiot."We debated until we went to our different classes.
Oh, and did I mention Mia is in ALL of my classes?
I'm serious.
Why do people do this to me.
