It was the middle of the night, the boys were sitting in the living room, and Charlie was asleep in the guest room that was reserved for him for the time being. The previous day had been rough. Charlie was crying off and on all day, unable to shake the horrible feeling that covered every inch of his consciousness. The boys were beginning to feel helpless, unsure of what to do for him, when Charlie decided to go to bed. He felt guilty about making his problems their problems, and was exhausted from the day.

He went to bed around 6, and it was now around 1 am. The boys had been taking turns checking on him, but he had been fast asleep every time. Eventually their conversation moved from Charlie to their new album they were still working on.

"So, how many actual songs do we have right now?" Julien said, trying to gauge their progress, and figure out how much work they still had to do.

"Well, I think we have about 2 1/2 solid ones so far. A shit ton of ideas and random lyrics here and there, but only 2 full songs." Lucy said.

"I mean we are only like, 3 months into our 2 year long break, so I think we still have a lot of time. I don't think we should put any unnecessary pressure on ourselves." Phoebe said.

"Yeah that's a great point, I just get nervous. I keep forgetting that we really have 2 full years to make this thing." Julien said, thinking about writing their EP, which was done in a pretty short amount of time.

"This is a lot different than our EP, JB. Like, we recorded that amidst recording our own albums, and being on tour. Now we have a full two years to work on this album, and we should take our time. After a break as long as we're taking, people are gonna expect some crazy stuff from us; and to find out that it's gonna be boygenius, people are going to flip out even more!" Phoebe said excitedly, even though they were no where near close to a release date.

"Yeah that is so fucking true dude, our fans are going to lose their minds! Like us disappearing for two years, and then bam, an album from a band that the majority of our fans thought was over?! It's gonna be life changing, I can feel it." Julien said.

"I love hearing you guys talk about our futures. It's so nice to see how far we've all come from when we first started making music." Lucy said, tears welling up in her eyes. Phoebe picked herself up off the floor of their living room and sat in Lucy's lap, wrapping her arms around her.

"Hey, don't get sappy now. Save it for the record!" Phoebe said, causing Lucy to chuckle.

"Oh wait I like that, save it for the record. That could be a song name, or even the album name." Julien said, thinking it out in her head. Lucy and Phoebe nodded, thinking it over in their own minds.

"Yeah we are definitely using that some how. I really like that." Phoebe concluded. They sat in silence for a little while, thinking of ways they could use that phrase when their phones went off all at once. They had been added to a group chat with a number they didn't recognize. The name of the group chat was "From the Vault". They were all very confused, especially since they didn't recognize the number that made the group chat with them, and didn't know how this person got their numbers. Then the number texted.

Unknown: hello! this is Taylor swift :) I got your numbers from a mutual friend of ours, I hope that's okay!

They all simultaneously lost their shit.

"WHY THE FUCK IS TAYLOR SWIFT TEXTING US??" Phoebe exclaimed, sounding nervous and also excited.

"I DON'T FUCKING KNOW?! DO WE TEXT BACK???" Julien said, equally as nervous and excited.

"NO! WE WAIT FOR HER! MAYBE SHE'LL GO AWAY?" Lucy said, terrified at the idea of TEXTING Taylor Swift.

Taylor: I assume you guys are asleep, so I do apologize about texting you so late! I'm not sure if you're aware, but I am going through the process of rerecording the albums that I don't own, so I can release them under my name. I was curious to see if you guys would be willing to feature on a couple songs! I know boygenius hasn't been active in a couple years, but I think this could be a great opportunity to get back into it! Let me know what you guys think!
