Tw mentions of: PTSD

Bonnie, Stefan, Elena and I all sat at the kitchen table. Stefan was at the end of the table, Elena to his right, Bonnie to his left, and I was sat next to Bonnie.
The first few minutes of us eating were completely silent, completely awkward.

"So, Elena, I know Im not the most talkative person in the world and that I agreed to do this, but" I pressed my lips into a line saying this with most sarcastic tone, "I thought we'd be you know talking?"

Elena glanced at me, then Stefan. "Did Tanner give you a hard time today?"

Stefan shrugged, looking at Bonnie and I before returning his eyes to Elena. "Well, he let me on the team, so," he laughed slightly, "I must've done something right."

Elena smiled at Stefan while laughing,

"Bonnie, you should seen Stefan today, Tyler through a ball right at him and -"

"Yeah, I heard." Bonnie cut Elena off, nodding. She was obviously uncomfortable with the situation. I couldn't blame the girl, i'd also rather be anywhere but here.

Stefan was looking at Bonnie, sneaking glances at me, probably I can this was his cry for help.

I think Elena felt the awkward tension as well, as she kept taking a drink of her wine. "Why don't you tell Stefan about your family?"

Bonnie glared at Elena, "um, divorced, no mom, live with my dad." Bonnie nodded at Stefan, he did as well.

Elena huffed with a smile, "no, I mean about the," she paused to grit her teeth before whispering,
"witches."

Stefan instantly looked nervous, at he jerked his head to look at Elena. "Bonnie's family has a lineage of witches, and it's really cool."

"Cool isn't the word I'd use." Bonnie sort of frowned.

Does she just spill everyone's witch secret?

"She's psychic." I stated, trying to get Stefan to look away from Bonnie. I could tell just by looking at her that she was getting more uncomfortable by the second. All three of them looked at me, "uh, she read me, or whatever you'd like to call it, and told me that I'm practically dead or whatever and that i should be careful."

"Oh?" Stefan said, nodding in confusion.

"Are you okay?" Elena blurted, causing Bonnie and Stefan to both glance at me.

"I uh-" I perched my lips, "yeah, it looks like i am." I paused, "but I agree with you, Elena, I think the whole witch lineage is cool. It gives you character Bonnie." I say jokingly.

"Well, it's certainly interesting. I'm not too versed but I know that there is a history of Keltic Druids that migrated here in the 1800's." Stefan added, talking to Bonnie.

Bonnie nodded, "my family came by way of Salem."
"Really?" Stefan nodded back, actually interested.
"Salem Witches?"

"Yeah." Bonnie smiled the slightest, beginning to play with her food.

Stefan looked from Bonnie, to me, to Elena, then back at Bonnie,

"id say that's pretty cool."

"Really? Why?" Bonnie asked. Elena was now smiling, happy that they two were getting along.

"Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity." Stefan smiled, making Bonnie smile as well.

"Yeah, they are." Bonnie looked happy for the first time since she'd arrived tonight. Go her. Elena kept smiling back and forth between the three of us.
