A wet walk (JxE)

Eddie's POV:

I was out at dinner with my adorable boyfriend Gaege and we were both up to desert. I took a glance out the window and noticed it was lightly raining which wasn't good because we would have to walk home in it. I looked over at Gaege who was also looking out the window. 

"Maybe we should call an Uber instead of walking home." I suggested and Gaege quickly shook his head as a smile grew onto his face.

"We don't have enough change. Plus, it'll be more fun." Gaege replied and I rolled my eyes as he began to bounce in his seat like an excited child. I smiled at him admiring his personality. 

"Alright, just finish your desert first." I said and he nodded his head as he dug his spoon into his ice-cream. I watched as he continued eating his desert until he was finally finished. We called a waiter over and paid before standing up and heading to the entrance of the restaurant. 

We stepped out of the shade and into the rain which was a bit heavier then before but still bearable to walk home in. The water poured down onto my head and soaked my hair that I had only washed earlier which made me a little cross. I crossed my arms as I followed behind Gaege who was skipping along the path in the rain. 

"This is so much fun." Gaege giggled and I trailed behind him as I looked down at the ground mad that my hair was ruined. 

"Yeah, just perfect." I replied in a monotone causing Gaege to turn around to look at me. He giggled as he splashed in a puddle sending water to fly all over my clothes. I glared at him but he had turned back around and was splashing in more puddles.

"Rain rain go away, come again another day." Gaege sang in his angelic voice which made me smile. He continued singing and splashing in puddles and I couldn't help but smile at his childish behavior which was lighting up the dull moment. 

"We want to go outside and play, come again another day." I joined in which made Gaege turn around to look at me with a massive smile on his face. He took my hand in his and we began splashing through puddles together and singing songs loudly. 

Gaege's POV:

Eddie and I arrived back home and stumbled through the door laughing from enjoyment. It had been a nice dinner but the walk afterwards was way more fun. It was the most fun I had had in a while. We sat down on the couch now shivering due to the change in temperature. 

"Stay here, I'll be right back." Eddie said hugging his arms over his chest as he shivered slightly. I nodded my head as I watched him walk out of the room and head towards the stairs. I reached for the remote on the coffee table and turned the tv on, switching through the different channels as I waited for Eddie. He came back into the room with two oodies and a blanket. 

"Here you go." He said as he handed me my Avocado oodie before slipping on his own taco oodie. I slipped on my oodie as he flopped down on the couch beside me and picked up the remote as he tried looking for a movie. 

"What do you want to watch?" Eddie asked and I shrugged my shoulders as we both stared at the blank tv screen trying to decide on what to watch. 

"How about Cars?" I asked with puppy dog eyes. Eddie quietly laughed as he searched it up and put it on. He then paused it as he looked back at me with a look on his face that expressed that he had come up with an idea. 

"I'll be right back, then we can start the movie." He said as he quickly stood up and headed towards the kitchen. He came back five minutes later with two cups of hot chocolate and a bucket of popcorn. He sat back down and started the movie as he handed me a cup. 

"Thanks babe." I said as I took a sip of the drink. He smiled at me as he grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around the two of us. I cuddled his arm and rested my head on his shoulder as we ate the popcorn and watched the movie. 

We were about halfway through the movie when my eyes began to grow heavy and eventually closed. I listened to the talking on the tv and the sound of Eddie chewing on popcorn before I drifted off to sleep and began dreaming about flying cars and unicorns. 

Eddie's POV:

I heard Gaege softly snoring and turned my head to the side to see him sleeping with his head on my shoulder. I smiled as I grabbed the remote and switched the tv off before taking the blanket off us. I carefully stood up trying not to wake Gaege up and quickly went to the kitchen to put our cups in the sink and the leftover popcorn in the bin. 

I went back into the loungeroom and walked over to the couch where Gaege was twitching in his sleep. I wondered what he was dreaming about as I picked him up bridal style and carried him upstairs to our bedroom. I laid him down on the bed under the covers before climbing him next to him.

"Goodnight Gaege." I whispered as I gently kissed him on the forehead before wrapping my arms around him and resting my head in the crook of his neck. My eyes fluttered shut and I began to focus on my breathing until I fell asleep.
