It was a Thursday morning. You were brushing your teeth in Nick's bathroom, feeling the urge throw up after remembering what you had promised your friends last night.

You had always been an introverted girl; sitting in the back of the classroom, staying in on the weekends, avoiding social environments, etcetera. You like to think you would have been a total extrovert if you hadn't had trouble being in social settings.

Social settings includes crowds of people, crowds of people includes the risk of being judged, the risk of being judged includes feeling anxious leading to anxiety, and that ends up with you going home and feeling guilty for making everyone miss out on a good time.

You tend to avoid these awkward situations, never feeling the need to leave your comfort zone. However, yesterday you were talking with the triplets about the basketball game today; the Celtics vs the Lakers. The triplets and Madi have gone to see the last four games by themselves, not pushing you to come along, knowing that you'll likely reject the offer.

But last night, Chris was being very persistent, Nick joining in on the conversation shortly after. They were both eager for you to come along, Matt obviously wanted his girlfriend to come along but didn't want to pressure you into anything that would make you uncomfortable.

For some reason, your friends really cared about you coming along this time, it's pretty difficult for you to say no to the guys who look almost identical to your boyfriend so, you said you'd accompany them. Some part of you is a major people pleaser, so the look on their face when you agreed to their suggestion make you positive you couldn't change your mind. You couldn't handle the thought of disappointment forming on their face.

You finish brushing your teeth, wipe away the excess of water on your face and walk out of the bathroom. You hear quick footsteps behind you, before you get the chance to look back you feel arms wrap around your stomach.

"You ready for today?" Matt asks enthusiastically. Matt wasn't pushy yesterday unlike Chris and Nick, but it was clear that he was the one who wanted you to come along the most. You nod, glad that your back is facing him so he couldn't give you that look when he knows your lying.

You feel him squeeze you a little tighter. "I'm so happy you decided to come with us to the game today. Just remember; if you ever feel the need to step outside to get some air, everyone will completely understand." He says, saying this close to your ear.

You slightly turned your head to look at him, giving him a warm smile. Matt replies with a kiss on the cheek before letting go of you. After that small encounter, you go to collect your shoes and bag; the game started in half an hour and you didn't wanna be late.

The ride there was pretty fun. You had always found driving or being driven such a peaceful hobby. Staring at the sky and the road ahead kind of made you forget about where you were going. You, Madi, Chris and Matt all got out of the minivan. Nick had already gotten out before us, trying to score us some seats with a good view of the game.

"You ready everyone?" Matt asks the group. They all nod their head before cheering their teams name; Madi the Lakers, Chris the Celtics. You give a simple nod in reply before interlocking your fingers with Matt's.

We enter Buffalo Wild Wings, there were loads of fans from the previous game that were still celebrating their teams win. Chris goes a separate route to find his brother right before Madi states shes going to quickly use the bathroom before the game starts. This left you and Matt alone.

You look around the restaurant, bringing your nails up to your mouth. You feel a pair of hands wrap around yours. "Don't do that, you've been trynna grow them out." Matt reminds you. You sign before letting your hands fall back down to your sides.

"You got this, you just gotta walk in, watch the game and hang out with your friends. That doesn't sound too bad does it?" He says, making light of the situation. You look up from the floor to be met with a small smile from him. This causes you to become slightly flustered, you find it so annoying how six months into your guy's relationship, he can still cause you to have the same reaction like when you first met.

Some time passes by and Madi comes back from the ladies room. "Alright, let's go find Nick." She suggests, leading the way. Matt puts his arm around your shoulders as you guys began to follow Madi.

The game started shortly after you guys found the rest of the group. The first half of the game, the Celtics we're winning by a lot, Madi was giving Chris the side eye every time he cheered for his team which made you laugh.

Being at a table with all your closest friends, eating together, starting playful arguments over stupid topics made you forget that you were surrounded by so many people. Of course, when there was silence because everyone was so focused on the game, you felt kinda outta place, not knowing a single thing about basketball.

However, the lonely feeling always went away when you got reminded that your boyfriend was right next to you, his hand holding yours.

The reason you've always had anxiety about places full of people were simply from bad experiences, you had been judged harshly before in your childhood, it made you develop this mindset that everywhere you go, everyone agrees with all those negative things said about you. It's all you can think about.

But when you look around yourself, you see your best friends surrounded by you, you see your boyfriend sitting next to you, it makes you realize that all that stuff can't be true. If you were such a "horrible person", these amazing and loving people wouldn't love you like they do.

They truly enjoy your presence just as much as you enjoy theirs. That's what helps you get through these tough looking situations, they make you come to the realization that the situation that you think is so big is not at all what it seams like. Everyone here is minding their own business, too focused on their team to look at a random girl, it's really silly if you think about it.

Us as humans take the tiniest problem and put a magnifying glass on it; making it seem like it's the end of the world. When it's really not.

You snap out of your thoughts to the sound of the majority of the restaurant cheering. You look at the final scoreboard to see that the Lakers won. You see Chris hurry his face into his hands, I'm guessing he's upset. You switch your attention to Madi who has her hands in the air, chanting her team's name along with most of the crowd.

Nick just took his phone out and began scrolling on Instagram, pulling his hat down to cover his face. You giggled at him before finally looking in Matt's direction. You could see him rolling his eyes while watching Madi, You could tell he was annoyed with her, you found it so funny.

After watching all the triplets suffer, watching Laker fans brag about their teams win, you guys finally left the restaurant. You and Matt went a little further from the group while walking to the car.

"Sorry your team didn't win, I know this was supposed to be a fun day for you." You apologize, rubbing his arm softly. He looks in your direction, a smile forming on his face.

"It was still a fun day, Y/n. Yes my team may have lost but I just witnessed my girl go to a hella crowded place and actually have a good time!" He says proudly. He pushes some hair out of your face that was caused by the strong wind.

"My day couldn't have been better." He says with a small grin. You look up at him and furrow your eyebrows.

"What if the Celtics would have won?" You ask, making Matt drop his smile. "Well then yes, technically my day could have been better smartsss." He insulted sarcastically. We both laugh before joining the group again, heading back home.
