Huh? I heard a loud noise coming from outside. "My stomach hurts so bad *whimpers*" a girl screamed. She might be the crouched roommate who also yelled a while ago. I leaned my ear to the door for better hearing. "I'm going to confine you then to the hospital." apparently the bob-cut girl declared. "NO! You don't understand." the agonized girl cried.
Hmph, what in the world is happening to these people? Since there was bloodshed everywhere, they might have quarreled like in World War 2. So that means, I am supposed to be the referee between their lines. I have to stop this misery! I confidently walked out and crossed my arms, staring at them with serious eyes. "I didn't see you there, Reese." Bob-cut girl surprisingly said. The agonized roommate was lying on the couch with crossed arms as well, while the bob-cut girl was right before kneeling beside the other. "Can you tell...me.what.happened?" I raised my voice a bit. Although I'm shy and nice to people at the first encounter, this whole drama led me to outburst my curiosity.
"I apologize for, for- '' Bob-cut girl was interrupted by the agonized girl. "You girls never understand this woman!" She said, "But, please, would you mind explaining this whole scenario? I am lost here!" I didn't mean to say the last sentence, but whatever. The agonized girl just sighed and looked at the bob-cut girl to do it.
"Okay... so, basically.." the bob-cut girl nervously started. Judging by their looks, they secretly backstab each other. "Our roommate Rainee has been experiencing symptoms of PMS. We've been like this for the past few days that the other girls noticed us." She explained. PMS? I never heard of any disease combined with those three letters. "What does PMS mean?" I blurted out, and everybody in the room was in shock. "Are you even a girl? Don't tell me you stalked us all the way here!" Rainee confusingly asked. "Yeah, seriously, I don't know what she is talking about," I spoke softly. "Ugh! I can't be with all of you. You know what, I'm moving out after a month." she declared as she walked through her room and slammed the door. Woah, I did not know I agitated her that much.
I looked over at the bob-cut girl to see her reaction. She looked pale as a turnip. "I'm sorry for the bother, but I think I should rest." She said, looking down at her feet and moving toward her room. I felt offended by what I did back there. I didn't mean to put oil in the fire as I needed a piece of toast from the toaster. I sat down on the couch, contemplating this 'P-M-S.' First of all, I do know periods that happen every month for women. But, I'm not definite if PMS correlates with the red, is it?
My former science teacher in High School back then taught us menstruation, if I'm not mistaken with the term. She said that blood gushes out your womanhood, located below your stomach. Some symptoms had to be expressed like mood swings, body aches, cravings, and discharges. I myself did not experience these stages throughout my teenage life. At that time, my teacher was concerned about me since I have not menstruated. Then, they took me to an OB-GYNE for a pap routine. It hurt for the first time, but the results were normal. The doctor prescribed for me to maintain an active lifestyle; exercising every morning, a strict diet, and sleeping well. I barely slept well, so maybe that's why I didn't have it yet.
Also, I observed my girlfriends showing that they are menstruating. There was this time I planned out a social event somewhere in Baguio, but it didn't push through. They were moody and too exhausted to join me, which is frustrating on my part. But, if I think about it, I'm lucky to never have that period, so why would they be concerned about me, right?
"Wake up! Rise and shiiineee!" bob-cut girl roared at my face. Yes! I had some deep-thinking sessions that my whole body shut down. "Good morning." I grumpily remarked. When I opened my eyes, the aroma of hot chocolate with marshmallows sweetened my nose, and bacon and mushroom soup were slurping into my eyes. How delicious my first breakfast will be in this dorm-
"By the way, these are instant cooked." the bob-cut girl calmly reminded us. (Name) choked her coffee from laughing at me. "What is the matter?" I asked. "You should have seen yourself in the mirror when you approached this table." Rainee said as she continued laughing until her lungs spurt out. "Um, it's just that I'm hungry.." I politely replied. Forget the ruckus, I sat down and rumbled a quantity of bacon and a volume of soup. I indulged every bite slowly just to enjoy my breakfast.
However, I glanced at Rainee while she was groping her stomach again. "There it goes again." She whimpered. The bob-cut girl hurriedly assists her to the living room. "Oh Reese! I don't think we will attend our classes. Instead, please do me a favor-" She demanded. "Yes, yes what is it?" I wondered as I stood up from the dining chair. "After your first class, kindly purchase sanitary napkins and hot compress from the nearest pharmacy? We are running out of supply." She requested when dragging Rainee to her room. "Oh okay, but how much are those?" I asked to make sure I will not create a hiatus. The Bob-cut girl checked her pockets for cash and handed it to me. "One box costs 50 pesos, while the hot compress is 100." I counted the amount on my right hand and departed for school immediately.
"Why am I running? It's not like I'm late for my first class, but then-" I thought to myself as I dashed. Growled, I felt that Rainee is my priority than my first day of school. I dashed towards the exit of the campus to go to the nearest pharmacy. "There!" I exclaimed as I immediately saw one from afar. Whew! I'm sweating from the carbonated smoke and heat. "Good morning Missus! How may I help you?" The clerk welcomed me. "Gulp, uhh I need some sanitary pads, painkillers, and hot compress." I declared. "Sure, will be back with it." the clerk assorted my order on the counter for 10 seconds.
I handed the money given by the bob-cut girl to the clerk, and she frowned. "Sorry missus, but you're lacking coins." What?! I suppose that's the appropriate amount. Ugh, then I need to use all my pocket coins for the day. "Here is a 10." I gave her the coin, rolling my eyes. "Hmmm. I think you should recheck your payment please because there's a pink tax if you know what I'm saying." She showed her monitor, to see that I need to pay the tax rate.
Oh sh-
