"This is Herrera. We've got them and we're coming out," Andy said to her radio.
When Vic heard that, she fell down on her knees. "Oh my God."
"They're okay, Huges," Beckett said as he put his hand on her shoulder, not sure how to calm her down.
At the meantime, additional units finally arrived and we're ready to put out the fire as soon as the firefighters were out.
The group appeared at the door and made their way out. Vic quickly ran towards them.
"Don't you ever scare me like this again," she told her best friend and boyfriend. They both looked horrible so she decided to give them a lecture later. Paramedics handed them oxygen and bottles of water while taking more equipment out of the bag.
"Are you alright?" Beckett asked as he came closer.
"More or less," Travis answered as he opened a bottle of water.
"Ruiz?"
Theo wanted to answer but all he could focus on was his head spinning. He knew something was wrong.
"Hey, baby," Vic kneeled in front of her boyfriend, grabbing his face, worrying look on her face. His eyes were closing. He was trying so hard to keep them open, looking at his love.
"Put him on the ground," Warren, who had just finished taking care of other victims, ran to them as he saw that something was going on.
"I thought it was just smoke inhalation," Travis said, panicking. He took a step back to give them space
Warren and other paramedics took off Theo's jacket and put an oxygen mask on his face.
"Theo, can you hear me?" Vic said kneeling behind his head, brushing his hair with her fingers.
Her boyfriend didn't respond as he was uncouncious. Travis moved behind Vic, waiting for his friend to open his eyes again.
"Ben, look at this," one of the paramedics said as he noticed a wound on Theo's back. A piece of metal was loged inside his chest.
"Damn it, we need an ambulance, now!" Ben said as they quickly put him on a stretcher.
One of the paramedic hopped on the driver's seat as the other one and Ben got on with Theo at the back.
Vic made her way towards the door too, but Travis stooped her.
"It would be to crowded," he explained. His best friend didn't even try to argue. She just hugged him tightly and started sobbing.
