I stared at the wall across from my bed. School was just days away, and I wasn't ready to go back. I hadn't spoke to Eddie over the summer much and wasn't sure how things would be between us now.
Eddie had spent all summer In the US and with Nina. And I felt weird about the osirian thing. Not to mentioned him being my first boyfriend. It all was circling my mind as I looked at the blank wall. Night was approaching as the room dimmed.
"Patricia," Piper walked into the room, her arms full of clothes.
"Oh thanks Piper" I took the clothes from her arms and set them down where I had been sitting.
"You okay sis?" Piper asked as I started folding my clothes." You've seemed really distracted lately."
"Yeah, just a lot on my mind." I stacked the clothes ino the open suitcase on the floor.
"Well I leave tomorrow for school and I just wanted to see if you needed any assistance."
"I think I'm good." And with that Piper left the room.
I still couldn't think straight by the end of the week. As I blared music in my ears on the cab ride to school I kept wondering what this year would be like with Sibuna. Before I was ready the cab pulled into the school parking lot.
"Patricia!" I turned around from the cab and was bombarded with a hug from Joy.
"Joyyyy!!" I hugged her back great full to see her.
"So tell me. Where's Eddie????" Joy looked at me.
"I don't know." I said simply turning back to the cab to get my bags out.
"How do you not know where your own boyfriend is????" Joy looked at me in astonishment."Oh look there Patty." She pointed to a cab that had pulled in on the opposite side of the lot. "Eddie!!!" Joy called out to him as he stepped out of the cab.
He turned around to look at us. I ducked behind the cab before he could see me.
"Patricia..." Joy looked to me.
I checked to make sure Eddie had left before standing up. "Found it." I held up a pebble.
"A rock?!?!" Joy looked at me. "Really Patricia?!?!"
"What?!" I asked her.
"Nothing Patty, your so pathetic." I turned away from her and started rolling my suitcase towards the house.
"Patricia!!" Amber hugged me as I reached the top of the stairs "Sibuna meeting tonight. Have either of you seen Nina??"
"No she'll be here soon." Joy pulled me along to the room where Mara was already unpacking her clothes.
"Our last roomy is here." Mara pulled me into a hug . "So what's up with you and Eddie???"
I set my suitcase on my bed. "She won't tell me." Joy answered Mara's question for me.
"Aw, c'mon Patricia. Things can't be that bad." Mara looked to me.
Thankfully Amber walked in before they asked me too many questions. "Trudy says food is ready to be eaten." And we all filled out of the room after her, making Mara and Joy forget about pestering me about my relationship.
"Fabian." I spotted Fabian walking into the house. "Good to see you."
He set down his bag and hugged us. "I missed being here."
"So where's Nina??" Amber asked pulling Fabian into the common room.
"She just texted me and said she'd be a little delayed."
"Well at least she'll be here." Mara commented.
"So Patricia I talked to Eddie." Fabian told me as the others went to get some food and visit with Alfie and Jerome.
"Yeah? What'd he say?"I asked him interested in what he had to say.
"He said you'd been pretty quiet this summer."
"Eh, you know I can stay quiet for a while."
"The only time you've ever been quiet is when you were cursed."
"Whatever." And with that I sat down on the couch.
A few minutes later we heard a noise of someone coming in through the door.
"Nina?" Fabian stepped out into the hallway to see if it was her but found it was Eddie.
"Hey great to see you man." Eddie hugged Fabian. "I think I saw Nina going to the school earlier.
"Eddie!!!" Joy hugged him as he came into the common room.
"Hey Yacker." He said as I stood next to Joy. "I missed you"
I smiled, "I missed you too weasel."
"Just kiss!!!!!!!!!"Joy pushed us together.
We shared a short but sweet kiss, and I was glad to see him. For a moment I forgot all that had been circling my mind.
"Some of us are trying to eat." Jerome complained.
"Jerome!" Mara looked to him astonished.
"I really did miss you."he told me as we walked to the other side of the room, holding hands.
"Then how come I don't believe it." I smiled as Amber walked up to us.
"Sibuna meeting tonight." She said.
"And where do these infamous Sibuna meetings happen?" Eddie asked her.
"Eddie, you really need to learn you Sibuna." And Amber walked away.
" So where do they happen??" He asked.
" Ask someone else." I let go of his hand and walked over to Fabian.
