Iris and Opal
(This is something I wrote a while ago and forgot about, it's short)
(This is just random things I can think of when Iris and Opal are together. I didn't plan any of this lol.)
"I told you many times before and I'll tell you again, quit following me," Opal sternly told Iris, who had been keeping an eye on her for quite a while. "I just needa make sure you stay outta trouble for the rest of the day. Especially after what you did," Iris replied, holding back the urge to giggle.
"Me doing one thing that you see as 'wrong' shouldn't give you the right to follow me everywhere," Opal argued, furrowing her eyebrows slightly in annoyance. Iris simply just shrugged that off and attempted to change the subject, "Just think of it as- how should I word it...- bonding time."
Opal rolled her eyes and let out a heavy, irritated sigh in response as Iris lightly chuckled. Almost as if planned, they both walked off in the same direction on cue. Iris continuously set her gaze on Opal then looked away, trying to avoid eye contact. An awkward silence filled the room as Opal finally reached a couch, throwing herself on it. She spread her body across the couch as Iris politely sat beside her with the little room provided.
"I'm already laying down so it's obvious I'm not gonna do anything. You don't have to sit with me as well," Opal complained. Iris just simply smiled in response and scooched closer toward the grumpy girl. Opal was about to scoot away but realizing she had no more room to escape, she groaned heavily while rolling her eyes. Iris quickly covered her mouth and hid her face behind her wing in an attempt to stop herself from laughing.
Opal, noticing this, rolled her eyes (which is becoming a habit of hers) and got ready to take a nice nap. Fixing her body into a sleeping position, Opal closed her eyes tightly and attempted to block out the faint noise of laughter. After Iris finally recollected herself, she turned to Opal, obviously not expecting her to take a nap at that time of day, "You're going to bed? It's the middle of the day." Opal kept her eyes shut tight, "I'm tired. Leave me alone."
Iris frowned at the rude response but decided not to mention it. After a while of silence, the sound of relaxed breathing could be heard on the left side of Iris, indicating Opal had finally fallen asleep. Iris gave a warm smile and chuckled lightly. She found it ironic that such a seemingly rude girl could sleep so peacefully. Iris got up from her position on the couch and headed to the kitchen, turning around one last time to glance at Opal with a warm, genuine smile.
The End.
