She quickly made her way home when classes were over, for her luck it was a bit of a long way and if she added to that the hours, she had been in class she had spent more than half of the day outside of the beige walls that made her feel so dazed. The train she was travelling on was quite quiet, luckily for her chaotic things almost never happened on her route, she always read about how dangerous trains could be, however, she had never experienced what the news made headlines and it wasn't as if she wanted to experience it, she was a nervous person and she knew that in dangerous situations she would automatically shut down. It was something that had happened to her since she was a child, and she was quite ashamed of it.

—You don't happen to have any coins? —A deplorable looking man had come out of some corner of the station, judging by his clothes she could tell he was someone who needed money, but she only had enough for the train and food for Nino, her cat.

—No, I'm sorry. —She tried to move forward and enter the train that had arrived, but the man had held her arm tightly and she could see his pupils were dilated, he was high on God knows what substance.

She cursed inwardly because no part of her body reacted, she was paralysed with panic and feared that at any moment he might pull out a knife and hurt her. She began to pray for her life.

—I said a coin. —He kept coming closer and closer to her face, and Alana could feel her stomach churning.

—She told you no. —A girl's voice flooded her ears and brought her back to reality. She was able to react when she felt her purse being tugged free of the man's grip. —Can't you understand, no?

Alana followed the man's gaze; he had turned away as if he had seen a ghost. She turned to thank the girl for the gesture of kindness she had shown her and recognised her. Before she could say a word, she began to analyse her. It was the girl who was in her class next to the boy at the concert, she recognised her by her slanted eyes and her fine oriental features. She was really pretty, like a doll.

—Are you all right? He didn't hurt you, did he? —The girl had a soft tone of voice now; she gave her arm a light caress and Alana only nodded and shook her head in response to her questions.

—Thank you. —She murmured hoping she could hear it, luckily, she did because she gave her a smile. —I have to go.

She got on the train and behind her the other girl got on as well, who sat next to her. Alana wasn't very good at making friends, which was why she had such a hard time making conversation and why she hadn't made a single friend in her class.

—I feel like I've seen you before, I know you from somewhere. —The girl next to her spoke as she took something out of her backpack and started to eat, it was some triangle-shaped rice snack, she had seen those in anime, but she had never tried one. —Do you want some?
—No, thank you very much. —Alana shook her head and waved her hands at her. —You're going to summer biology class, and I'm going to summer biology class.
