Her father worked for a small security company and always had rotating shifts at work, Alana knew that he oversaw security at many events around the place, after all it was a fairly small town and her father had grown up in it, so he was a well-respected security guard. She didn't know if it was his multiple tattoos or his strong character that made him so intimidating, but everyone wanted him to guard the security of their events. She had grown up with an irrational fear of the man and was sure that anyone who tried to get her work affected would end badly. Charles always got what he wanted, and it was something he had taught her since he came into her life, he wasn't the best father, but he had done what he could.
—I need you to trust me. —A warm hand cupped her cheeks gently and the soft touch brought her back to her senses.
It was Bill.
—Let's go in the back door so we can avoid him, okay?
Alana just nodded, she felt like she was tongue tied and couldn't utter a word for fear of saying something meaningless, Bill could see the terror on the girl's face, she really was afraid of her father and was having a panic attack because of it. He knew exactly what that feeling was so he would help her.
Thanks to all the commotion the boys had caused with the fight, they had had time to slip out the back door without even being noticed, and that Nana was doing things that made her stand out from the crowd.
—Please, Nana, help us, will you? —Bill replied when he saw her wanting to approach some girls who were kissing with intentions of joining them without an invitation.
Nana grimaced and entered the Death Hole before them, Bill had to make sure she wouldn't do anything to attract the attention of the watchers, behind Nana entered Alana, who was a little calmer about the whole situation. Her chest was rising and falling rapidly as she was regularising her breathing, she was still very nervous, however, nothing could compare to how she had been a few minutes ago.
—It's all over. He won't see you while we're in here, they're not allowed in. —Bill slipped one of his arms around her small shoulders to hold her close to him in an attempt at a hug. —He won't see you; I promise. I'll take you home as soon as I've finished.
He said and then disappeared, leaving her standing next to Nana who seemed to be looking for someone in the crowd.
The atmosphere she found herself in was quite clandestine, there were a lot of people screaming out of their minds, alcohol was splashed everywhere as well as some yellow liquid she didn't even want to know what it was. As the music stopped everyone started booing and shouting obscenities, Alana turned her eyes to the stage where she could see the boy. He had a glittery microphone and he had waved to the audience and then started to sing.He had a beautiful voice.
He commanded the stage in a magnificent way and the melody he had begun to sing was glorious and soft at first, but from one moment to the next the melody changed, becoming heavier but just as glorious. Behind him were three boys, one with long hair playing bass, another on drums and Tom was there to. Each looked completely lost in his instrument, they knew what they were doing. And Bill, Bill's voice. It was as if hearing it had opened the gates of heaven, although I was pretty sure that if Bill was an angel, he was a fallen angel.
