Chapter 1

Being spider-woman isn't easy. I got these powers during the summer right before senior year. Honestly couldn't have picked a better time. I mean this is the time where soccer is most important and Jackie has been on my ass for it lately. It's a few weeks into senior year where we pick up off on.

6:30 AM, The alarm is ringing repeatedly.

"Fuck"

I  say groggily. I only got 2 hours of sleep last night because of the robbery. I get out of bed and head towards my closet to get ready for the day. While changing the bruises all over my body are very noticeable luckily they'll disappear in 2 days tops. Thanks to my powers of course. I decide to wear a white skirt with a crop top and a pink cardigan.

"That should do"

I  start heading downstairs when Shauna calls me.

"Hey Shauna, whats up?"

"Lottie! holy shit thank god you answered!!"

Shauna screamed that into the phone.

"Um whats going o-"

"SHUT UP, JACKIE IS LITERALLY PLANNING A FULL ON INTERVENTION FOR YOU AT SCHOOL"

I have to take a minute to process this. It's WAY too early in the morning for this.

"What do you mean an intervention? like why??"

"you really don't know why? You never show up to practice and when you do your already exhausted from doing nothing, you also miss class a lot"

Shauna says it like she's extremely disappointed, kinda of like a super sad mom.

"shit, ok i'll be at school in a little bit"

I hang up before Shauna gets the chance to reply. I'm so dreading this "intervention" I decide to skip breakfast because i'm way too nervous to eat right now. I take my time putting on my converse and heading out the door. I mean Jackie can wait a little longer, i really hope she doesn't have the whole team with her though. When i pull up into wiskayok highschool i see Jackie and the whole team waiting right in front of the school. Of course the whole team is there. This is about to be absolute hell.

I get out of my car and start walking towards the back of the school. Maybe they haven't seen me yet? But of course they did, when Shauna and Taissa run up to me and start dragging me towards where Jackie is waiting.

"Is this really necessary?"

i ask. Taissa scoffs and says

"Well it obviously is since you just tried avoiding us."

I decide to stay silent after that. I know Tai is already pissed at me for missing practices. But like i'm fighting crime and nobody knows! Jackie is staring at me from the distance with a weird sour look on her face, it makes me want to crumble inside. I decide to scan everyones faces on the walk over well drag over since i'm literally being dragged. Mari is there texting on her phone, Van is not smiling which is weird i guess she's also disappointed, Laura lee is also looking sad. This is seriously making me want to drop on my knees and cry. When i see Nat standing in the back i'm very surprised. Like holy shit Nat actually came to this "intervention" ??.

I'm still thinking about Nat and don't even realize that Jackie is in front of me waving her hand in my face.

"Hello?? earth to Lottie??"

Jackie says that in a very disappointed tone.

"Hi Jackie"

that's literally all i can think of what to say?? what the hell.
