Amidst the fall, Aiz caught Lefiya and hugged her.
"Lefiya, are you okay?!"
Lefiya didn't respond as she looked towards Aiz with blank eyes.
She murmurs something which Aiz couldn't hear properly.
"L-Lefiya your eyes...?"
Just like before, her eyes turn green once again.
Soon, Lefiya's body glowed.
Circular ring enveloped both of them.
This is Lefiya's magic. Elf Ring, a magic that made her possible to copy any elf's magic.
"T-This...?!"
Before Aiz could comprehend what's happening, she felt a blazing heat under her feet.
The dragon below her is shooting yet another pillar of flame.
Before she could come up with a countermeasure, she heard yet another murmur from Lefiya.
"-Crushing evil,"
A white barrier shone brightly under their feet, which acted as a shield to prevent them from being burned by the inferno.
"The ground became clearer and Aiz could see the dragons waiting for them, which means they were about to land. Aiz hugged Lefiya tighter to avoid her from crashing into the ground."
However, Lefiya lips moved again as she murmured something, Aiz finally understood that it was a chant.
"-alling like rain, burn away the savages-"
The moment they reached floor 58, Lefiya finished her chant.
"Fusillade Fallarica,"
A meteor shower appeared in the sky and turned the monsters into black mist instantly.
Aiz widened her eyes when she saw the scenery that rapidly changing from a wasteland full of monsters into a silent hill. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call this a purgatory.
Only 1 monster survived the purgatory, a big red dragon that could be called the mini boss of this floor.
A gigantic red dragon.
It looked at them with an angry expression.
But, before Aiz could move, she hears a roar
"Uooohhhhhhhhhh,"
The voice belongs to Gareth as he slammed his axe towards the dragon's head, splitting the dragon in half before turning into mist.
"Gareth!"
"Aiz, Lefiya, are you two safe?"
"Yes... Lefiya took down almost all the monsters... Lefiya?"
It was then Aiz noticed Lefiya fell unconscious.
This is a story of a certain elf.
The place... Even the girl herself didn't know anymore.
But, the only thing she knows is, she is in the underground, and it's been a long time since she last saw the sun.
And she needs to advance forward.
"Uwaahh... what is this desolate place?"
She looked at the scenery in front of her. It reminds her of a certain dungeon that she adventured before with her dearest people.
At that time, she was surrounded by many treasured friends and they needed to rescue someone she referred to as a big sister.
However, this time she is alone, and everything is so dark.
A sense of loneliness fills her as her lips turn downward.
"Miss, don't worry, we're here with you!"
She could see light glows around her.
"Gahaha, feeling lonely, aren't you? Don't worry uncle will protect you from everything!"
"Salamander, you're too loud! Miss... cheer up..."
"... Ahaha.." The Elf let out a weak laugh.
Everyone is right... I'm not alone... I need to do this!
The girl then steeled herself once again as she put a power into her foot.
She walked carefully as she looked around. Unlike previously where she encountered countless monsters, this time it's eerily quiet.
The spirits around her body would alert her if there's a monster around, but they didn't alert her this time, meaning there's no enemy around her.
"It's silent here."
"Tonitrus is right, it's too quiet to a point where I can't help to think this is a trap."
"Are that things can come up with such tactics?"
"They do. You already saw it beforehand in that pure white place. That thing has a mind and strategy good enough to kill normal people, whether with direct pain or poison. If not for Undine regeneration, we're in a lot of trouble."
"As long as Miss can avoid instant death, I can save her. Even if she lost her limbs or almost all parts of her body."
Inside the elf's mind various disturbing topics are being raised which make the elf uncomfortable, but at this point, she is already used to it whether they are just these kinds of savage bunch or just difference of viewpoint. And honestly, she liked them being rowdy instead of quiet.
However, she soon feels the ground become hotter.
Before she could comprehend what's happening.
She heard a shout inside her mind.
"MISS! BELOW YOU!"
But it was too late for her to react as an inferno pillar enveloped her.
She could feel an intense pain as she screamed.
And the wind that slashed her burning body as she was falling amplified the pain.
"MISS! HANG IN THERE!"
She hears a sound inside her mind, but the pain made her unable to think rationally. In the end, she fell unconscious after she felt a shock on her body accompanied by a crashing sound.
"Tonitrus! Salamander! Do something! The monsters are approaching!"
"I cannot! Miss is not responding! She will die at this rate!"
"How about other spirits?!"
"No good! All of them got burned by that!"
"This is bad! Is there nothing we could do, Undine? Can you heal Miss?"
"It's not good either, her mind is not responding!"
"Is this the end? Are we going to die in this cursed land?!"
"... There's one way..."
"Then do it!"
The old man's voice urged her to do it.
However, the serene voice stopped for a moment.
"Mind unification... I can only save Miss if I become one with her."
"That is not a contract anymore... If she die, you will die for eternity."
"But this is still better than all of us dying pointlessly here. I'm doing it."
The necklace that the Elf was wearing glowed brightly as it turned into a glamorous spirit.
The spirit then started reciting an oath as it linked her hand with the Elf, who was barely living with burned wounds all over her body.
The spirit looked at the unconscious elf for a moment before uttering the next word.
"... Bye-bye... Feena."
