Qi Xunmei stretches her sore muscles and looks at the view outside the window.
It had already been weeks ever since the first time she arrived in that world and it was almost like the past is slowly getting blurry in her memory the more days pass by.
Thinking about it now, the past her was really different from the current her.
Her name was Qi Xunmei, she was only 23 years old when she became the Chief Commander of Team Alpha.
She lived on the blue planet which was Earth in the olden days before the Zergs came and invaded their world.
Her ancestor discovered that they are not the only intelligent beings living in the universe but there are more races that one could not count in one hand way beyond the milky way.
Her team is the best of the best when it comes to killing Zergs. Zergs are the enemies of the humans ever since the time that she could remember.
Ever since the day that she was born, Zergs had already been killing and eating their kind in the blue planet.
They were strong and powerful, humankind had been living in fear every day, they fear the strength of the Zergs but that is only the time when she was still not born.
Genius is what they call her since at the age of 1 she can already talk.
At the age of five, she was already solving college math problems and at the age of 10, she had invented the greatest weapon that could defeat the Zergs.
Laser beams and cannons, laser swords and guns, the inventions that took her only a year to create, weapons that could kill Zergs with one shot.
These weapons were too deadly for one to describe but these weapons were the humans saving grace at that time, humans started to fight back when they acquired these weapons.
They kill Zergs after Zergs as their courage lit up and bloated and the humans who live in fear become green with greed as they jump from planet to planet with the spaceship that she invented to conquer it.
She was proud that she was able to help her race but she was also saddened by the fact that her inventions caused wars on other planets, her inventions that she created to fight the Zergs and save her people became a killing weapon to kill innocent life.
This made her regret creating them, for bringing them to life.
She did not regret making them but she regret that those warm weapons in her hand become cold weapons in her brethren's hands.
And because of these weapons and knowledge, she was killed, not by my enemies' hands but by her dearest friend and lover.
Who would have ever thought that he would envy her and decide to get rid of her?
Truly, life is a joke.
And now, as she look into this old man's warm eyes, the eyes that I was used to seeing, greedy and calculating eyes disappeared within a blink of an eye as my frozen heart thawed for this sad but loving grandpa.
"Grandpa, don't worry about Xunmei anymore. Xunmei is not a child anymore and Xunmei won't let others hurt me and take advantage of me anymore. Xunmei already knows that Xunmei is stupid and too trusting to others so now Xunmei will never trust others again except Grandpa because Grandpa.... I know Grandpa will always be by my side."
Xunmei hug the old man whose eyes became as wide as saucers as tears drop from his old wizen eyes, he hugged his granddaughter tightly but not too tight to hurt her.
He was happy so so happy that his Xu'er now knows, his Xu'er has finally changed.
"Grandpa, what do you mean?"
It's been a week since the time when Qi Xunmei was assassinated and she had almost recovered from her state.
She was having the time of her life in her room when suddenly her grandpa who had been gone for two days appeared in her room with a dark face.
"Xu'er, please just listen to Grandpa. The clan is in a state of chaos right now since the Lu family had already made their move, that's why I want you to stay here for a few months or years as I fix the problem back in the clan." Qi Mubai softly explained to Qi Xunmei who was looking at him worried.
"But Grandpa, how can I leave you to fend for yourself among those bunch of wolves? I worry about you Grandpa and most of all now that your health is not too good, you might collapse if there is too much stress."
Qi Xunmei held the old man's hand as she tried to persuade him to either stay or take her with him.
"Xun'er, please don't make this harder for me. Please just listen to me just this once, alright? Grandpa only wants the best for you I don't want you to get hurt again. If the Lu family knew that you are still alive they would do anything in their power to take you and use you against me, do you want that?" Qi Mubai said sternly at Qi Xunmei.
He wanted her to know the hard truth so she would no longer try and follow him, his heart ache when he saw his lovely granddaughter break into a frown.
"I understand, Grandpa. But you have to promise me one thing before you go."
Qi Xunmei looks Qi Mubai in the eye as she also sternly looks at him.
"Please take care of yourself, Grandpa, it would break my heart if I were to lose you too. Please, promise me."
"Xu'er...."
Qi Mubai's heart ached seeing Qi Xunmei break into tears as she held onto his robes tightly. It was as if she does not want to let him go as she was holding unto him too tightly.
Even though it was just a few days, Qi Xunmei who grew up without care from a real family felt her heart thaw from the old man's familial love.
She could not help but feel jealous of the real Qi Xunmei who grew up with all the love in the world, people love her and she too could not help but love them.
She is truly a sheltered flower that was why she did not know the evil in the world, she was too kind that she was easily killed by her family's enemies but with the new Qi Xunmei she won't let that happen.
"I promise, Grandpa will take proper care of myself since I still need to attend my beautiful granddaughter's wedding in the future." Qi Mubai teased.
"Grandpa...."
Qi Xunmei blushed and jokingly punch her grandfather's chest who in return laughed out loud happily.
Seeing the interaction between the two brought warmth to the servants' hearts, such a heart-warming scene who would not thaw?
