Qi Xunmei was not even able to finish what she wanted to say when Ruyi Wang quickly wave her goodbye like he does not want to stay there with her for a second.
"I'll be off then. Goodbye, my dear apprentice!"
After Ruyi Wang explained to Qi Xunmei some dos' and don'ts' he quickly scurried off like his butt was on fire not daring to even look back, not even once.
"Teacher, I still had something to ask!"
Qi Xunmei looks speechless at Ruyi Wang's behavior towards her.
Is this how one treats someone they had forcibly brought into the palace?
"This Ruyi Wang is really so irresponsible."
Qi Xunmei shook her head as she laugh about Ruyi Wang's behavior, he was a prince yet he did not use his authority against her but instead scurried off like he had seen a Demon.
This fact only proves that Ruyi Wang is not a simple person or maybe he is but the point is that he had some hidden agenda that is for sure.
Bringing her into the palace and all, she knew that her days living there might be long and full of trouble since Ruyi Wang spells "trouble" himself!
"Bringing me into the palace, what does that fox intend to do? Does he want to give me to someone or is he pranking me?"
Qi Xunmei felt that crossing paths with Ruyi Wang was the most troublesome thing that ever happened in her life.
She had been living carefreely ever since she came to this country but she just had to get tangled up by that bastard only to be left alone in such a desolate place like this.
It had already been two years since she came here and her time here is almost up and she needed to go home.
She hopes that nothing bad happens to her while she is staying here in the palace or it might screw up the things that were planned for her.
She does not want to disappoint her grandpa.
Qi Xunmei sighed thinking about the weird prince.
"Apprentice Painter? Aren't all of his apprentice painters in the past all female, why did he choose me?"
Qi Xunmei crossed her arms and leaned on the window frame.
She looked outside and finds herself face to face with a cherry blossom tree, she remembered that it was the flowering season and trees such as this should be blossoming in this season.
Looking at the beautiful tree, a beautiful smile appeared on her petal-like lips.
She reached out her hand and grab a few fallen leaves from the tree that was flying along with the wind.
"I guess not all is that bad."
Unknown to Qi Xunmei, somewhere not so far away from the cherry blossoms two man in their mid twenty's was looking at her with cold abysmal eyes.
The first one seemed to be in a trance when he saw her smile but then snap out of it and immediately left not bothering of her anymore until her smile was nothing but a memory.
The second man watches her intently but with curiousity but the same as the first man he left no longer bothering looking at her.
Qi Xunmei felt that someone was watching her.
She looked at the direction she felt the eyes from but saw no one there.
"Was it my imagination?" Qi Xunmei whispers to herself.
Qi Xunmei was not able to go deeply in her thoughts when she heard the loud thumping sounds coming from outside the halls.
"Apprentice! I have some news for you."
Ruyi Wang yelled the very moment he reached the doors of Qi Xunmei, she looked at Ruyi Wang with curiosity as she felt some foreboding feeling.
"Ruyi Wang..."
Qi Xunmei stood up from her sit and cup her fist.
"Just Brother Ruyi my dear dear apprentice." Ruyi Wang beamed a smile.
"Brother Ruyi it is then, what do you want?"
Qi Xunmei crossed her arms as she stared down at Ruyi Wang whose face was twitching.
'Who knew my apprentice would be able to adapt so fast?!'
"My dear apprentice, this Wang had some good news for you that I knew will make you jump in joy."
Ruyi Wang laughed creepily that made Qi Xunmei's hair stand on end.
"I had already propose to the Emperor that you will be the one in charge of painting his magnificent image and of course you would be meeting him now and I hope that you won't disappoint me my dear apprentice!"
Hearing what Ruyi Wang just said confirmed the foreboding feeling that Qi Xunmei had, he's definitely setting her on a trap and she only pray that it's not a "beauty trap".
Following Ruyi Wang to the throne room, Qi Xunmei could feel that something bad would definitely happen to her if she were to follow him inside those big doors.
A premonition of the future continues to stab deep inside Qi Xunmei's heart as the golden doors slowly opens, the door towards the future that should had never been opened or maybe it should...
A man in black robes look at the two person in front of him coldly as he sizes up the person next to Ruyi Wang, his brows furrowed as his gaze once again landed on the fox.
"Ruyi Wang, greets the Emperor."
Ruyi Wang cup his fist together as he smiled happily at the Emperor, his fox tail and ears popping out from behind him.
The Emperor's frown even deepened seeing Ruyi Wang's mischievous up to no good smile.
"Wei Xian, greets the Emperor."
Qi Xunmei also cupped her fist at the same time as Ruyi Wang, her hair stood on end seeing Ruyi Wang's smile.
"Speak."
The Emperor wave his hand and sighed inwardly as another set of headache bang his head.
Ruyi Wang without further ado spoke the words that he had long practice again and again in his heart.
"Your Majesty, this prince had brought in front of you my 'sole' apprentice, Wei Xian."
Ruyi Wang smiled.
Qi Xunmei's lips twitched when she heard the 'sole' word that Ruyi Wang said, same could be said to the Emperor who held his head.
''Sole'? How many 'sole' apprentice had you already brought inside the palace so far?!'
