Jason's alarm went off, and he immediately grabbed his phone. After hitting snooze, he looked at the date and time.
"Monday, August 23, 2066. 6:00 AM. Damn, I don't want to get up," Jason thought to himself.
He set his phone down, and groaned, before turning over in his bed.
"Hey, Jason! Come on, it's our first day, you can't be that tired already," a young man's voice said.
"Shut up, Carter," Jason replied.
"Jason, let's go, man. We can go grab breakfast before our 8:00 AM," Carter said.
"We've still got two hours until our class. Just give me a second," Jason replied as he slowly pushed himself up, and sat on the edge of his bed. He rubbed his eyes, before looking at Carter.
Jason noticed Carter, who was standing near him, was already dressed and ready to go.
"How long have you been up?" Jason asked.
"Since 5:00," Carter replied.
Jason shook his head.
"Why?" Jason asked.
"Eh, I'm a little excited, if you couldn't tell. It's our first day, ya know?" Carter replied.
"Yeah, the first of many," Jason muttered.
"Now, come on, bro. Get up and get ready," Carter said.
"Alright, fine. Just give me a few, and then we'll go grab breakfast," Jason replied.
Jason stood up, and walked over to his dresser to grab clean underwear. Then, he proceeded to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Jason closed the door behind him, and started the shower. After showering, Jason moisturized his face, and then brushed his hair and teeth. Next, he exited the bathroom, wearing nothing but the pair of boxer briefs he grabbed earlier, and headed over to his closet. He picked out a uniform, and then got dressed.
Carter, who had been patiently waiting for his roommate while playing on his phone, looked over at Jason, who was tying his shoes.
"You almost ready, Jason?" Carter asked.
"Yeah, just let me make my bed real quick," Jason replied as he finished tying his shoes, and then went to make his bed.
After making his bed, Jason looked over at Carter, who was sitting on the edge of his bed.
"Alright, lets get out of here," Jason said as he grabbed his backpack, and headed for the door.
"Took you long enough," Carter replied as he grabbed his backpack, and followed Jason.
The two exited their dormitory, with roughly an hour and a half until their first class started, and headed for the dining hall.
On the way there, Jason and Carter took in the sights of the campus, and used this time to further familiarize themselves with their university.
"You know, despite moving in just last week, we really didn't spend much time exploring the campus or socializing to meet new people," Carter said.
"Yeah, you're right, but I also moved in a couple of days later then you did. So, I'm sure you could've found the time to explore and socialize," Jason replied.
"Umm, yeah, you've got me there," Carter said as he chuckled.
The two boys eventually reached the cafeteria, and as they were approaching the door, Jason noticed two girls through the glass. One of the girls had black to crimson red hair, whereas the other had dark brown hair, and the two of them were nearing the exit. Jason grasped the handle, stepping aside, as he opened the door for the two ladies, and Carter stepped aside, as well, behind Jason. Immediately, Jason's blue eyes locked with the violet eyes of the girl with black to red hair, and he felt a shock, like he had been struck by static electricity. However, Jason remained unfazed by this sensation, and both him and the girl maintained eye contact while she passed him. The beautiful young woman smiled at Jason before breaking eye contact, turning her head away, and looking forward as she continued on with the other girl. Slightly awestruck, Jason watched as she drifted away from him, and admired her long, black to crimson red hair, which was on full display.
Carter smacked Jason on his shoulder.
"Hey, what was that, Jason?" Carter asked.
Jason, who was still holding the door, snapped out of his trance, and looked down at Carter.
"What?" Jason replied.
"Dude, you and that girl just eye fucked so hard," Carter said.
"Shut up, man," Jason replied as he walked through the door.
"You know it's true, bro," Carter laughingly said as he followed Jason.
