"oh my god!" he shrieked, backing away from the glass while blake stared at him with a content expression.
"he just took scissors and—" anthony shouted, pointing towards the surgery room.
"i know," blake returned nonchalantly. she was still watching the procedure attentively from outside the room.
justin was in the middle of another one of his existential crisis', so she figured it would be best to leave the room for the stressful part and let him yell at someone else besides her.
"you guys do that every day? just rippin' open people's skin like that? with scissors? do my kitchen scissors do that?" he questioned fearfully.
"it's part of the job," blake explained, "i wouldn't try that with your kitchen scissors though..."
"wasn't planning on it," anthony sarcastically muttered. he observed as dr meis moved his tools accordingly around harrison's foot to make sure he performed the operation correctly.
"thoroughly disgusted yet?" she joked.
"yes," he assured, turning away from the glass, "so what's next for him?" anthony seeked with concern.
"rehab, PT, hopefully no wheel chair. the better he progresses the sooner he'll be back on the field."
"i can see him rolling out to center in a wheelchair," the man teased.
blake lifted an eyebrow, as anthony bursted out into a pure laughter across from her. the woman patted him on the back, a tiny smile engraved on her face.
"it was nice meeting you. i've gotta get to my next appointment though." blake farewelled, disappearing down the dim-lit hallway.
anthony turned his sights back to his teammate knocked out in the medical bed. dr. meis seemed to be finishing up the procedure now. a couple of nurses had already left the room which signaled they were wrapping up.
dr. meis disposed of his mask and gloves as he left the room. he then washed his hands, and approached anthony.
"harrison will be waking up in a few hours. the operation went pretty smoothly so we're foreseeing no implications. he'll be out of here in no time," dr. meis informed firmly.
anthony thanked him, then excused himself for some coffee. he didn't know what to think of harrison's doctor.
harrison told him they've been friends since they were seven, but he just seemed so intimidating and pitiless. the entire mood of rooms died when he walked into it. even anthony's radiant personality couldn't help but shrink down behind justin meis' ominous one.
he'd just ask harrison what his deal was once he woke up.
