As much as he likes hearing his manager's praise, Kiyoi could not help eyeing the stack of letters next to the man's coffee. His manager usually waited until the end of the meeting to hand over his fan mail. It is probably for the better. Kiyoi doesn't think he can keep up his uncaring façade if there was a letter for his number one fan. And there is always a letter from his fan. He could see the tell tale sign of a rubber ducky stamp peeking out from under another letter.

He still remembers the first letter from this fan. It was the first fan mail he ever got. When he was still in high school, Kiyoi had signed up to do an event to promote upcoming talent in the area. The first round was online voting to pick the top twelve for a showcase. He had made it through with some help from his classmates when they found out about it. Their support did not help much when he ended up out in the first round of the showcase. He remembered brushing it off like it was nothing in front of them, excusing himself to get some air and let out his true frustration. As cool as he wanted to play it, he felt crushed. He worked so hard for this. Was he not good looking enough? Was he just not good enough in general? It was his dream to be an actor. Should he give it up? He asked all of this into the chilly night air. Kiyoi didn't know if he was waiting for the universe to give him an answer as he sat out there a few more minutes wiping his tears.

He got a call a few days later from the agency that would come to manage him. They had contacts with the company who held the event and heard good things about him. They wanted to set up a meeting to recruit him. It went well and Kiyoi was given a copy of a contract to sign with the agency as well as a letter. He was told it was mailed to the company that held the showcase and they requested it be passed along to him. He joked that Kiyoi had a lot of promise if he was already receiving fan mail.

It was a simple postcard with blue roses on one side. On the other side was a rubber ducky stamp and a simple message.

You're beautiful. I will support you and your dream.

That was all. Two simple lines that left an intense impression. Kiyoi was well aware that he was attractive. He was not a modest person. Even if he doubted his good looks, people had constantly told him so. Handsome, hot, sexy, or cool were the words people used. This was the first time anyone had called him beautiful. Kiyoi tried his best to keep down the fluttering feeling it caused. If he was going to continue his acting career, he needed to get a better control over his reactions. No need to get so happy over this letter. For all he knew, it could be from a total creep. Anyway, this would hopefully just be the first of many fan letters to come.

After he signed with the agency, he managed to book the commercial opportunity. The concept was simple. It was to sell an energy drink so he played a junior who offered it to his superior at work for encouragement. It was weird that after a whole day on set it turned out to be only a few seconds on TV. While it catered to a working woman, it played during the daytime when most would be in the office so he doubted he would get much exposure from it. A few days after the ads started running, His manager held a meeting to go over a potential role in a play. The man also passed along three pieces of fan mail and a stuffed animal. The first two were from some housewives who never had a junior at work but still loved the fantasy of it and him. He scanned them over quickly but he could not help seeing the ducky stamp on the last card and was intrigued.

You are just as beautiful on TV. I wish I knew what your favorite drink was so I could give it to you for encouragement.

Like the first letter and the ones that came after it, it was not signed. That was unlike every other fan mail he got. People would sign their full name, put their social media, phone number, and concerningly their home address in some cases. But never from his #1 fan. The only identifying mark was a cute rubber ducky stamp at the top. That is how Kiyoi ended up referring to them in his head but soon others would know him as Suspicious-kun.
