" Trystaaaaaaaaan, fix me another drink " my mom slurred at me.
Even though I knew she was wasted enough I made her another drink. There's no denying that she was a drunk. But see she wasn't always like this. Back in 2009 my dad left us, claiming he had another whole family he had to tend to. That's when my life went down-hill. See I used to have friends, I was Mr.Popular, the Cool Guy, I knew more people than I could count. When my dad left us I had to become the man of the house. You know taking care of my siblings and helping my mom around the house.
" Aye boy , what you still standing here for ? You must be deaf I said fix me a drink " she yelled to me. I didn't even notice I spaced out but I went to go fetch her a drink anyways.
' I hate doing this ' I thought as I fumbled around in the kitchen for the half bottle of tequila and pineapple juice.
" Hmm, I wonder if I add a little bit of tequila to the drink would she notice. I mean she's drunk as is " .
I took a glass out of the cupboards and sat it on the counter. I filled the glass up half-way with pineapple juice and then I added a splash of tequila to the mix and I then stirred it around with my finger. Smiling to myself about the devious plan I just came up with I brought her the drink.
She smiled at me sweetly before taking a sip. Once her mouth hit the rim her eyes turned a fiery red.
* Splash *
" You think you can trick me boy ? I wanted a full glass of alcohol. I can't even taste it " she says while grabbing me by my shirt and looking at me in disgust. I cowered in her grip. She then let go and stumbled to the kitchen. I watched her closely.
" Ma, what are you doin ? " I asked.
" Hush boy. I'll make my own drink " she spit at me venomously.
I watched as she found the bottle and tilted it upwards towards her mouth. Drinking it in four big gulps I watched on astonished. She only drinks that much when she's very depressed . Which means she's been thinking about pops. She finished off the drink with a squirt of lemon juice she found on the counter.
I watched as her eye-lids started to close on their own and her legs began to wobble. I hated this part of the day. I was secretly glad my sisters went to after care for a while so they wouldn't be able to witness this.
" Hey Trys- " my mom was able to get out before she fell on the floor passed out from the liqour she drank .
" Ughhhhhh " I sighed before going to tend to my daily routine. I grabbed her by her arms and started to drag her to her room down the hall. Panting for breath every couple of steps because its hard trying to push dead weight . I was relieved when I finally came to her room. Stopping to wipe the little beads of perspiration off my forehead I opened her door. I dragged her in and pulled her body onto the bed and then tucking her in. Kissing her on the forehead I wished that she would get better.
I walked back out of her room before glancing once more at her. I closed her room door and went to go get ready to get my sisters from after care. Making sure to hide the empty bottles of alcohol from my sisters I laced up my shoes and went on my way. Thinking about better times before everything went down .
