the blame 。・:*:・゚★ Chapter 7

"You better be grateful... Ms. Lernwood has decided not to press charges, even though she very well could have-- and should have." The officer sipped his mug of coffee, eyeing me with not-so-subtle disgust.

I gave him one of my own unpleasant smiles. "She should have kept her janky, asshole of a son away from my friend."

"Let's not push our luck here, Misses Schlieb. That tongue is gonna land you in Juvie one day."

I closed my mouth before I could prove him right. In the other room, Clarren was having a heated argument with Jackson Lernwood. Apparently my name must've been brought up a lot since he kept pointing at me through the glass walls. I probably should've predicted the blame was gonna fall on me-- rightfully so, I did suggest it. Suddenly she slapped him and I couldn't help but slap my hand over my mouth with both shock and delight. It's not every day Clarren Arnwen physically hits a jerk.

I would've went and congratulated her, had my mom not pulled up to the station.  I said a swift prayer to myself and followed the officer out to the front of the building. Kevin was in the back... as well as Hunter Sylvester. What the hell?

"June, June, June... what were you thinking?" Laurie Schlieb sighed, and I felt a twinge of regret as she spoke in that disappointed parent voice I'd come to know. "Egging someone's house? What is this? The eighties!?"

At that point she was just rambling to herself, so I slipped into the backseat, next to Kev, who was next to Hunter. Pulling the door shut, I leaned over to face the long haired boy. "Why are you here? You should have been gone like forever ago."

He suppressed a smug smile, "You really think I'd miss this? You going to jail?"

"I am not fucking going to jail, for the last time." I narrowed my eyes, giving him my best scowl.

Laurie suddenly slumped down in the driver's seat after her long farewell and most likely, apology, to the officer. "Don't say fucking, please, June. This whole thing is bad enough as it is."

As childlike as I could muster, I leaned back in my seat, arms folded and a pout etching my lips, earning me a obnoxious eye roll from Kevin and a chuckle from Hunter.
