A few more painful leaps and Meowth was back on flat ground. He dusted his paws off and looked around at the forest that was ahead, "Alright den, first things first; I'll find the twepts, and trap em' in a pit trap! Then, when dey're all confused and asking who's to blame I'll spring out, and agree to let em' out, when dey agree to help me-owth! Ha ha!" He made his way into the forest.

Shoot, this was one of those easy-to-get-lost-in forests and it took Meowth a few more minutes then he'd care to admit trying to find the main pathway threw all the shrubbery.

...

Ash, Misty, and Brock where taking a short rest on a fallen tree beside the pathway. Togapi was balancing on the small branches with Misty's help, Brock was tripple-checking the map, and Ash was-

"Hey, wasn't Ash here just a second ago?" Misty looked around, scooping Togapi back up to turn to Brock.

He started looking around to, "well, he couldn't have gotten far. Knowing Ash, he probably saw a cool Pokimon and wandered off to catch it."

Misty giggled, "That wouldn't surprise me."

Ash was in fact hot on the trail of a Pokimon. He was backtracking down the path glistening in the sunset, as he walked beside his pikachu. "What do you think it was? It looked like a fire type to me."

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu happily piped.

"Or maybe a rock, or steal type! I could sure use one of those in my-" before he could finish the path floor gave out, trapping Ash and his Pokimon. He rubbed the back of his head, "hey! What's the big idea?"

"Prepare for trouble, I can't think of a rhyme! Best make it double, I thought of one in time!"

Ash raised an eyebrow, turning to Pikachu, "that doesn't sound like Team Rocket."

He heard a growl from overhead and Meowth looked down at them, "Hey! Their voices aren't as easy as they sound, kid!" Hold on, something seemed to be missing, "Wait, where are the other two; the blind one and the redhead?"

"I'll ask you the same thing, Meowth! Where's the rest of Team Rocket?!" Ash took up a defensive stance despite being trapped in a pit.

The cat laughed, "They're kinda in a sticky situation at the moment, so it's just me and I can take you on my own, twerp!" He pulled out a remote and pressed a button, causing a cage to form around Ash and his Pokimon.

"Pika!"

Both struggled as Ash stopped Pikachu from shocking the bars and himself, "Meowth you let us out this instant! Wait until Brock or Misty find us, then you'll be sorry!"

"Tell ya what, kid. I'll let ya out, on one condition."

"No matter how many times you try, you're not getting my pikachu!" Luckily, the openings in the cage were big enough for a Pokèball to be thrown out of, "Bulbasaur, I choose you!" The ball was thrown up and landed right ahead of Meowth. "Bulbasaur! Use fine wip.

"Bulbasaur!"

Meowth barely dodged the attack, "HOLD IT! WAIT WAIT WAIT! I don't want your dumb pikachu! I was just gonna ask for your help! EEK!" He dodged another vine wip attack.

Ash told his pokimon to stop and watched Meowth suspiciously, "what do you mean you need my help? Why didn't you just ask normally instead of trying to capture pikachu like you always do?"

"We're the bad guys, we've got a pretty limited playbook when it comes to dis." The cat instinctively put his hands up when Bulbasaur growled, "Plus, if I was caught askin' politely by Jess, she'd feed me to Arbok!"

Ash shifted in the cage, now sitting crisscross with Pikachu on his lap, "so you'll let us out if we agree to help you?"

"Dat's what I said ain't it? So what'll it be, twerp?"

"Fine, we'll help."

"Pika- pi-!?"

Ash whispered to his unsure pokimon, "If it is a trap, We'll be prepared." With a determined look, Pikachu nodded.

Meowth didn't seem to hear the conversation, "alrighty den!" He hit the remote again, disassembling the cage. Bulbassur used his vines to lift his trainer and his pokimon out of the pit. "Bulbasaur, use your vines and keep Meowth from attacking."

The next thing he knew he was tied up in vines, "Hey! What ever happened to helpin' me out?!" Meowth attempted to scratch at the vines, but nothing worked.

"Just making sure you don't pull any tricks," he started walking down the path towards his friends. Pikachu walked behind Meowth and Bulbasaur, never taking his glaring eyes off the cat. "We'll meet up with Misty and Brock then help you. Just one question, why can't Jesse or James help?"

"Where do ya think my teammates are? A vacation? They got snatched up in a spider web in the mountains after you blasted us away!"

Pikachu was angrily sparking at Meowth's story, "Pi- Pika-!" He mumbled. He didn't belive the cat one bit.

"I guess that makes sense. We'll gather supplies and leave to save them." Ash's stomach grumbled, "-maybe after we eat."
