I didn't talk to Johnny for the rest of the night after I got home. I couldn't stand seeing him after he beat some innocent guys ass. I go straight to my room after I get a quick midnight snack. I lay in bed. God I can't get my mind off that boy. His baby brown eyes, his perfect tanned skin, his cute smile, his.. everything. I fall asleep, thinking about this boy.

The next morning, it was the first day of school, which means volleyball tryouts. Im pretty confident I'll do well today, but I also hope I'll get to know that boy more. I get ready for school and go down to eat breakfast and see Johnny. I don't say a word to him. I eat quickly and start driving to school.
The day started off normal. I saw my friends and all that. And then the time came for tryouts. Ali was trying out for cheer, she does it every year too. Volleyball tryouts started after cheer so I was waiting outside with Ali. "Look y/n.. your boyfriends trying out for soccer." Ali says with a grin on her face. I turn around and see him, he has a black eye. Shit. "Start up a conversation!" She says as she hands me the soccer ball. "Alright, alright." I whisper yell as I say a quick "think fast!" To him and he catches the ball. We say hi to eachother. "Oh my god your eye.." I say worryingly

"Eh, it looks worse than it feels. You trying out for volleyball?" He says, trying to turn the conversation around. "Yea, I'm kinda nervous, the girls this year are good." I say, looking at the girls who are trying out. "You'll do great. maybe after I try out, I'll come watch you." He says, smiling. "Alright, only if I get to watch yours." I say, smiling back at him. "Volleyball girls, on the bleachers!" The coach shouts. "Gotta go," I say, waving. "What's your name?" He yells, looking back at me. "Y/n, with a (whatever letter in your name lmao idk), what's yours?" I reply. "Daniel...with an L!" He grins and I giggle, waving bye to him. Daniel, Cute.

I sit on the bleachers as tryouts start, I watch Ali as she starts the cheer for the soccer boys. Then I watch Daniel, they start out fine until a Cobra Kai guy trips him on purpose. "Karate kids going at it!" A guy shouts as Daniel starts fighting the boy. I mean, the guy deserved It but damn. "That kind of behavior does not belong on the soccer team!" The coach shouts at Daniel. "Whatever, this school fucking sucks! It sucks!" He shouts back as he runs into the locker room. I saw Johnny on the side laughing at him. Little shit.

I didn't see Daniel the rest of the day, now I felt terrible. This all started because I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I just hope Johnny gets karma sooner or later.
Volleyball tryouts went well, I just couldn't get my mind off of the situation. I went another day not talking to Johnny, I couldn't stand him right now, Cobra Kai was getting the best of him, it's made him a huge bitch. He gets so overprotective over me to the point where it's not even the "cute" type of overprotective it's just toxic. I don't know if it's a jealousy type thing or he's just doing it for fun. I just want it to end, and fast.

The next day at school, I find Daniel at lunch. "Hey, I'll be back." I say to Ali. "Alright, have fun~" she says as she grins. I roll my eyes and walk over to Daniel. I say hi. "Hey! Y/n with a (letter)!" He says as he smiles brightly. "I'm sorry that soccer tryouts didn't work out." I say as we move along in the lunch line. "Eh, it's alright. I just wish you didn't have to see it." He says as we get to the checkout. He asks how much it is for both. He's paying for me? That's so sweet. "So, did you get on the volleyball team?!" He says as we sit down at a table. "Yes I did!" I say excitedly. "Heyy, That's amazing! I'll have to come to one of your games then!" He says, matching my excited energy. We talked for the rest of lunch about ourselves and got to know eachother. I really think I'm starting to like him.
