The Runaway

It was a calm Friday night, Richard was making dinner and the TV was on. Suddenly Nicole kicks the door open, Richard is thinking in his head ,"Oh, no. What did I do wrong?" But he then saw Nicole pulling Gumball by the ear, while Darwin and Anais follow her in fear. He still wonders why that Nicole was mad at Gumball.

Nicole: Darwin, Anais, go to your room, now.

When they heard the last part, they run up to the stairs, and look back worried.

Nicole: Okay young man, what were you doing?

Gumball is not looking at her fearing if speaking to her.

Nicole: *snaps her fingers* Look at me when I talk to you, what were you doing?

Gumball: Nothing.

Nicole: Well what I saw didn't look like nothing, why were you near a liquor store?

Gumball: Umm... I was trying to get you a present for your anniversary.

Nicole: First of all, our anniversary isn't until a month. Second, don't try to lie to me, I know when you are lying. Thirdly, you've been acting drunk.

Gumball: Fine, you caught me, I drunk 'em.

Nicole: You seriously couldn't wait 9 more years?

Gumball: Hey, you don't know if I have 9 years.

After he says that, he takes out a suspicious thing, Nicole's eyes widen when she sees the thing in his hand, he quickly hides it. Nicole  walks to him and gives him a hard look which makes him sweat.

Nicole: *calmly* Gumball, what's in your hands?

Gumball just looks at her.

Nicole: Answer me.

Gumball still looks in silent.

Nicole: *gritted teeth* Quit looking at me and answer me!

She stomps hardly on the floor hardly, and Gumball backs up.

Nicole: I won't say it again. ANSWER ME!

Gumball screams in pain after his mother took his wrists and twisted his skin of his wrists. The item drops and it was a vape.

Nicole: Have you lost your mind!?!

Gumball: *nervously sweating* Well uh, you see...

An ID dropped out of his pocket, and Nicole picks it up. No wonder how he got all that stuff, he was using her credit card. He chuckles nervously and Nicole looks at him with fire eyes.

Nicole: You know, I shouldn't have stuck to my decision.

Gumball: What do you mean?

Nicole: I'm talking about before you were born. You see, I had this discussion with your father-

Richard: Nicole, please!

Nicole: I wanted a child, but your father wasn't ready yet, I should've agreed with him, because I wouldn't have a mistake like you.

Everyone gasped (besides Nicole), Gumball tears up when he hears this. She realizes what she said, and covers her mouth. She tried to reason with Gumball by saying she didn't mean it, but he just pushes her away.

Gumball: *heavy tears roll on his cheeks* Don't try to hug me! You clearly didn't want me to exist. If you don't want me, then I'm gone.

Gumball runs upstairs crying. A few minutes pass by, and we see Nicole on the couch laying on her stomach with her face in the pillow crying, with Richard stroking her back.

Richard: It's going to be okay, Nicole. I'm sure we'll have a talk and he'll forgive you.

Nicole: *gets her face off the pillow* No it won't Richard, he probably hates me now, and when he has kids he will only show their grandfather instead of me.

She says as she buries her eyes into her paws and drops on her knees, pressing her face onto the floor sobbing.

Now it shows Gumball going to the gas station to just get a couple of things. He gets a big box of sausage pizza, a Kola bottle, and a couple of potato chips.

Larry: That'll be $27.59.

Gumball hands him the money.

Larry: Thank you for shopping today.

He goes outside to sit somewhere, he finds a bus stop and starts eating a slice of his pizza, then he hears a familiar voice.

Tobias: Hey, G-Ball, what's good?

He sees some of his friends he drinks and vapes with Tobias, Banana Joe, Ocho, and Clayton.

Gumball: Nothing, just ran away because of family problems, and I got no place to go.

Banana Joe : Don't worry dude, that's why you got us.

Gumball: What are you trying to say?

Ocho: Remember when we talked about going to Vegas, well we sorta SAVED MONEY AND GOT US A HOTEL FOR 3 DAYS!

Gumball: What, actually?

Clayton: That's what friends are for.

Gumball: So when is the bus coming?

Banana Joe: There it is right now.

They see bright lights and they hop on.

Bus Driver: Are you here for Vegas?

They all nod.

Bus Driver: Well here's the bus.

They go to the end of the bus which has 5 seats for them, as they drive off.

Gumball: What about food?

Tobias: Pfft, there's a buffet inside the hotel and restaurants near the place, man, we got *him and the rest of the guys count* $400 in total.

Gumball: Phew because I spent all my money on these, anyone want a slice?

Ocho: Heck yeah! Nobody says no to pizza.

They start eating the pizza and the bus drives off.

It is now morning, Nicole yawns and stretches. Darwin and Anais burst into their door babbling to their parents.

Nicole: Woah, woah, slow down. Just tell me nice and slow.

Darwin: Read this paper.

Nicole reads the paper and tears up.

Nicole: He ran away because of me, gosh I'm such a terrible mother.

Anais: No your not, you just accidentally slipped words out. Everyone does it sometimes.

Nicole: Thank you for not trying to make me feel bad, but it still doesn't change the fact that I hurt his feelings deeply. Now if you excuse me I'm just going to jump into the shower.

She jumps into the shower and gets dressed while the family waits on her in line. When she goes to her and Richard's door, a family album dropped on her head. She scrolls through it and sees baby pictures of Gumball.

Nicole: Oh I remember these days, you were so handsome.
