Ryan arrived at the mansion the next morning while everyone was at breakfast. "Ryan." Luke and Mary and a few others cheered. "Good morning." She greeted them. "Can I talk to you in private?" Ryan asked Luke. "Sure. I'll show you to your room."
"Forcing me to take a vacation for your wedding is beyond inappropriate. You broke a boundary. I've never been more upset with you. I should fire you." Ryan scolded Luke. "Do I mean that little to you? It's my wedding. We're friends."
"You hijacked my work week for your own personal reasons." Ryan said. "I'm sorry that being present for your friend's wedding was not important enough for you." Luke replied. "What you did was wrong, Luke."
"I'm sorry." He apologized. "Your gift is that I'm letting you keep your job." Ryan said. Luke walked out of the room. Ryan picked up the itinerary. "Seriously?" Ryan sighed.
Sophie sipped on her mimosa, listening to Kate and Maggie discuss possibly renting out a similar venue for their wedding. It's early, and their trading kisses and enjoying each other's closeness.
It's enough to make Sophie want to vomit. Sophie walked away from the kitchen. "We're leaving for the dress appointment at 1." Mary reminded Sophie. "Okay." Sophie replied.
She wandered around the house. She found herself on the balcony. "Hey." Ryan happened to be passing by. "Are you okay?"
"Yes." Sophie answered. "Can I have a sip of that?" Ryan asked. Sophie handed Ryan the glass, and she took a sip. "Say what you want about Mary. She can make a cocktail."
"That is true." Sophie took her glass back. "What are you doing out here?"
"I was starting to feel sick. I just needed some air." Sophie said. "Maybe you shouldn't be drinking."
"I appreciate your concern." Sophie said. "That was such a polite way to tell me to fuck off." Ryan laughed. "When you have a job like mine, it's a necessary skill."
"What do you do?"
"I run a private security firm." Sophie said. "Gotham is the best place for it." Ryan said. "It's keeping me employed." Sophie replied. "And busy?"
"And busy."
"Sophie!" Mary called out to her. "Great." Sophie sighed. Ryan followed Sophie downstairs. "Oh. There you two are. Are you ready to go?"
"Dress shopping. Yay." Ryan sarcastically cheered. "So excited." Sophie replied. "Okay, let's go." Mary said.
Sophie looked at the many dresses at the boutique. Ryan noticed Kate and Maggie making out on the love seat of the viewing area. She rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Do they ever stop?"
"Ryan." Mary nudged her. "Welcome in, ladies. Which one of you is Mary Hamilton?" The store clerk greeted them. "I am." Mary raised her hand. "Congratulations. We got the two dresses you asked for ready to try on, and we've got four tailors for your bridesmaids."
"Great, thank you." Mary said. "Right this way."
After getting fitted, everyone sat around waiting to help Mary pick her dress. "Okay, I have had enough." Ryan said before going to sit between Maggie and Kate. Sophie chuckled.
"Seriously? What is wrong with you?" Kate said. "Calm down. You'll see her in ten minutes." Ryan said. "Do you think you're funny?"
"I'm not a comedian, but I get a good chuckle from time to time." Ryan replied. "Listen here, you troll."
"Wow. That didn't feel very empowering. It's giving I hate women." Ryan turned to Maggie. "Is that what you're in to?" Ryan offered her hand to Maggie. "I'm Ryan, by the way. I don't know if we've met since she has had her tongue stuffed down your throat all day." Maggie awkwardly shook Ryan's hand, officially embarrassed.
Mary walked out in her dress. She glared at Ryan, sensing that she had something to do with the change in the atmosphere. "That's a lovely dress." Ryan smiled. "Oh my God." Sophie held in her laugh by covering her mouth.
Mary walked into the house and found Luke. "Hey, you're back." Luke said. "Yeah. You need to talk to Ryan."
"What happened?" Luke asked. "She embarrassed Kate and Maggie in the store." Mary said. "Good. They needed to be stopped. It was trashy." Luke defended. "She's going to start a fight." Mary said. "You're overreacting. I'm sure it was innocent."
"Luke." Mary said. "It was fine. Go get ready for the wine tasting." Luke assured Mary. "Okay." Luke kissed Mary, and she walked away.
Ryan leaned against Sophie's door frame. "How pissed do you think Mary is at me?" Ryan asked. "Oh, I don't know. We're back from her dress appointment early, so I'm going to guess very."
Sophie sat on her bed. "I thought it was pretty funny." She said. "They deserved it." Ryan shrugged. "No argument here." Sophie said. "Honestly, I needed the laugh." She told her. Ryan sat next to Sophie. She took Sophie's hand and interlaced their fingers. She rested her head on Sophie's arm.
"Kate and I used to date. It was so long ago, and I know it's stupid, but it's still hard to see her with another woman." Sophie explained. "It's not stupid. Some wounds take longer to heal." Ryan said.
They looked into each other's eyes before connecting their lips in a gentle kiss. The kiss got a little rougher. Ryan lightly pushed Sophie to lie back. She put her hands under Sophie's shirt and massaged her breasts.
Sophie undid her own pants. Ryan's fingers danced along the waistband of Sophie's panties. She pulled away from Sophie and looked down briefly before looking at Sophie, who gave her an assuring nod.
Ryan put her hand down Sophie's panties. "Is this okay?" She asked as she massaged Sophie. "Yes." Sophie breathed. She grabbed Ryan's face and kissed her.
