2½ years later.
"Looks who's back from vacation." Luke walked into Ryan's office. "I feel like I barely see you at work anymore." He joked. "Ha ha." Ryan sarcastically laughed. "How was it?"
"We loved it. The resort was beautiful, and the people were friendly." Ryan told him. "That's good to hear. I'll recommend it to Mary." Luke said. "You do that." Ryan said. Luke walked out of the office.
"Your flowers just arrived at Ms. Moore's desk, Ms. Wilder." Ryan's new assistant said. He started a little over a year ago, and he's been great at managing Ryan's schedule. "Thank you." Ryan said.
Sophie walked into her office and sat down at her desk with a heavy sigh. There was a knock on her door. "It's open." She said. "These just came for you." The bouquet was placed on her desk. "Thank you."
Sophie threw the old flowers in her vase in the trash and replaced them with the new ones. She admired them before starting her work day.
Later that night, Sophie was on her laptop in bed, looking at engagement rings online. Ryan walked in from her shower, and Sophie quickly closed the page and her laptop. "I thought we agreed, no work in bed." Ryan said. "I wasn't working."
"What were you doing?" Ryan asked as she pulled back the covers to get into the king-sized bed. "I was watching porn." Sophie joked and put her laptop in her nightstand. "You couldn't wait 10 minutes?"
Sophie kissed Ryan. "I was looking at the pictures from the trip." Sophie told Ryan. "Did you have fun?" Ryan asked. "I always have fun with you." Sophie answered smoothly. Ryan kissed Sophie. "I love you." She told her. "I love you, too."
Ryan reached over and turned off her lamp. Sophie turned off her lamp. They laid down on their sides facing each other. Ryan leaned in and kissed Sophie. Sophie leaned in, causing Ryan to lay on her back. She slid her hand under Ryan's purple silk pajama button down to tease Ryan's breasts.
Sophie trailed kisses down to Ryan's neck. She kissed Ryan's neck. She unbuttoned Ryan's buttons, leaving a kiss on each new piece of exposed skin. The trail stopped at Ryan's matching silk pajama shorts. Sophie took them off of Ryan and spread her legs.
Ryan sat at her desk in her office, distracted, biting a pen as she reminisced the previous nights activities. "Ms. Wilder." Her assistant's voice caught her attention. "Your car is waiting for you downstairs for your meeting." He informed. "Thank you." Ryan collected her things before going down to the car.
She told everyone she was in an important business meeting so no one would ask questions when she was gone. Mainly Luke.
Really, she was going into a jewelry store to pick up Sophie's ring. She designed it with help from a friend. "What do you think?" The jeweler asked, handing Ryan the ring to inspect. "It's perfect." Ryan said.
When Ryan got home after work, Sophie was cooking dinner. Ryan walked into the kitchen, gave Sophie a quick peck on the lips, smacked her ass, and grabbed a glass of water from the fridge before walking into their bedroom to change into her lounge wear.
"How was your day?!" Sophie asked. "It was long. I'm exhausted. After lunch, everything went to shit!" Ryan complained. "How was your day?!" She asked Sophie. "I was in court all day!"
"We need another vacation." Ryan walked out of the bedroom and sat on the living room couch to watch tv. Sophie chuckled at Ryan. They haven't been back a full week yet, and Ryan's already talking about another vacation.
"Where to this time?" She asked. They've been to so many places in the past two years. From the Grand Canyon to the beach in Fiji. "Let's go to Vegas." Ryan suggested. Sophie laughed and shook her head. "Let's wait for things at work to level out first."
"We could go tonight." Ryan said. "I have court tomorrow, and Jada would kill us if we missed her game night." Sophie said. "Ugh. It is the last Thursday of the month." Ryan groaned. She had been so busy planning her proposal that it had slipped her mind. "It sure is." Sophie said. "Fine. Vegas can wait."
Jada's driveway was full of parked cars when Sophie and Ryan arrived. "Did she start early? Why was everyone here already?" Ryan asked herself. "Did she tell you she changed the time?" She asked Sophie. "No." Sophie looked at the time on her phone.
They walked to the front door and were let in. When they walked inside, Ryan led the way into the living room while Sophie pulled out a little red velvet box and hid it behind her back.
Ryan walked into the living room that was decorated with balloons and flowers. Her friends and family stood in a semicircle. Ryan turned to Sophie, who was now down on one knee.
"The night we met, I had no idea how much you would change my life. You tell me at least 3 times a week how lucky you are to have me, but I'm the lucky one. You are sweet, funny, sassy, sexy. You are everything to me. I love you so much." Sophie opened the ring box, showing the ring. "Ryan Wilder, will marry me?"
Ryan smiled with tears in her eyes. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her own ring. "Only if you will marry me." She said. Ryan framed Sophie's face with her hands, and they kissed while everyone cheered for them.
