•Nobodies POV•
Gorou awoke with a terrible headache and an aching shoulder. His eyes slowly opened, and he let out a groan as he attempted to sit up.
"He's awake!" A familiar voice cried, and right after a pair of hands was placed over his eyes.
"I- Beidou!? what's going on!?" The general asked, slightly panicked. He could recognize the captains voice from anywhere, but he didn't understand why his eyes had to be covered.
"Sorry, I don't think I could handle another person following me around all day." Gorous confusion just continued to grow, not sure of what any of that meant. Follow her around? It's happened to her before? And what does covering his eyes had to do with any of it!? He let out a sigh of annoyance before grabbing her hands and taking them off his eyes, and was definitely surprised by what he saw. Beidou was there, her face one of absolute boredom, as Kazuha laid asleep in her lap. "Good morning sleepy beauty, you in love with me yet?"
"What?" The general thought being able to see would help him understand the situation better, but now he was even more confused. "Why would I be in love with you!? And why's Kazuha sleeping here instead of in his tent?"
"Woah woah slow your roll!" The captain said with a chuckle, "We've figured out what the gas did to the people affected by it. Apparently whoever inhales the gas falls unconscious for a long period of time, and when they wake up they get attached to the first person they see. Poor Kazuha here fell victim to the gas just after you did, and unfortunately he saw me first."
Gorou sat there for a moment, letting Beidous words process. "So it kind of works like a love potion?" She nodded her head. "Then, why don't I feel anything to you? I mean, you said it's whoever I look at first right?"
She thought about it for a moment, stroking an imaginary beard. "Well, it's not always romantic. Kazuha here isn't trying to kiss me everyday, but he won't leave me alone. He's always hugging me or holding me hand, stuff like that. I'm starting to get tired of these stupid love poems he makes me."
"But I don't wanna do that with you either! I mean- no offense..." He's never seen Beidou in a romantic way, and even then he always hung out with Kazuha whenever they were around, so their friendship wasn't exactly super close. "How long have I been unconscious?"
"Oh, I don't know... 3 days?"
"3 DAYS!?" The general could barely believe his ears. He's been asleep for 72 hours? That's impossible! How were his troops? How many people were affected? His mind was overrun with worry, until he remembered the most important thing. "Her Excellency! Is she okay!?" He didn't bother to hide his concern.
"She's still unconscious, and we've been keeping her in room. No one's allowed in, the last thing we need is her getting attached to some rando doctor. Maybe if we're lucky she'll be like you and won't get caught up in this lovey dovey bullshit." Gorou thought about that for a moment, his ears pressed against his head in concentration. Beidou must have noticed the worried look in his eyes, because he gently pat his head.
" Look, you're tired and got a nasty wound in your shoulder. Get some rest and we'll keep talking about this tomorrow." He nodded his head, watching her get up and causally throw Kazuha on her shoulder like he was simply a bag of luggage. "See you tomorrow, General!"
He waved goodbye and laid on his bed. Staring up at the ceiling, he urged his brain to go to sleep.
•Two hours Later•
Ok. Sleep was definitely not an option. He tried to tell himself that it was because he'd been sleeping for the past three days, but he knew that wasn't it.
