The house in the Hamptons was always a dear place for everyone in the Vitiello clan. For the older and younger generations alike. With every summer came a promise of fun and crazy memories to be made. A promise of rest and escape form the day-to-day life in New York. A few months away from masks, lies, scheming, violence, fear, and blood. Pure joy and easement. But for Isabella that house also held a promise of safety that she hasn't felt anywhere but there, in their house by the ocean. It was true, her family provided her with every mean of physical safety they considered necessary, but it was the only place where her nightmares wouldn't follow her. After finishing her degree and one last graduation ceremony Isabella packed her suitcases, got into her car, and as always headed to the mansion in the Hamptons. She put on some of her old favorite playlists in the radio and humming to "Miracles Happen" she speed up the highway.

After over two hours on the way and short grocery stop Isabella pulled up in front of the gate leading to the gate. With a smile on her face, she breathed in the salty air and drove onto the property.

- I made it to the Hamptons. – she said shortly as her father picked up his phone.

- All right. You really couldn't wait for Valerio and Flavio to join you on the road? You could have gone together tomorrow. – she could hear his pouting on the other side of the phone.

- Like I am going to wait around while Valerio fucks through half of Upper East Side tonight as his going away party- she spat sarcastically. – Besides Fernando was right behind me the whole time. Don't worry daddy, tonight is just me, Chinese take-out, tequila, and a good smutty book. Kiss Mom for me.

- Will do, Peanut. Just don't get carried away- he chuckled.

- Have you met me? - she asked ending the call. Isabella got out of the car, grabbed the groceries, and walked into the residence. Most of the house was already set up by the house keepers a few days ago, so she only put the alcohol bought earlier into the fridge and walked onto the terrace. A blissful smile crept up her face as she moved towards the beach. The sun was setting creating jaw dropping pink-orange glow on the sky. Isabella sat on the sand just close enough to the edge of the waves as the water washed at her feet. The perfect escape for someone who walks with their head in the clouds most days. She couldn't look away from the magnificent view until stars showed up on the night sky.

Isabella's eyes shot open as someone lifted her from the couch, she had spent her previous night on and ran out of the house to the garden.

- Valerio put me down right now! – she screamed at him.

- Not a chance! – he yelled back as they both went flying into cold water of the pool.

- You fucking idiot. Valerio. I am going to make you regret this. – Isabella threatened her cousin, but he only splashed water into her face. Another exited scream sounded in the air as someone jumped into the pool drowning them again.

- I consider Hamptons summer season as officially open. - Flavio roared cheerfully.

- I hate you guys. – Isabella laughed jumping onto Valerio's shoulders pushing him under water.

The next few days flew by filled with good food, alcohol, loads of board games, some poker, and late-night dances. Today the rest of the Vitiello clan was supposed to join them for the time being. Isabela stood in the kitchen preparing drinks when cars pulled up before the front door.

- The house seems to be still standing. - She heard Uncle Luka coming into the main living room.

- Did you ever doubt us and our housekeeping abilities? -Isabella asked with a scoff. -But Valerio is watching the grill, so you should probably go and supervise him- she kissed him on the check and carried the tray of drinks to the patio.
