Being the granddaughter of Sky High's Principal secured Diana a place at the school for young superheroes since she was a child. As a kid, she was thrilled to meet children with abilities like hers and dreamed of becoming a great hero like her father, Andrew, also known as Morpheus.

Now, at sixteen, things have changed, including her excitement at enrolling at Sky High. She supposed it was better than going to a regular school with teenagers with no superpowers. Still, the teaching system her grandmother created was the stupidest thing she ever heard, and a great part of her didn't want to be part of something so ridiculous.

On her first day as a freshman, Diana didn't put much effort into her looks, wearing a simple grey shirt under a black leather jacket. She had a pair of jeans on and black-ankled and heeled boots. Linda would most likely disapprove of the outfit, which was a drastic contrast to the older woman's elegant style.

Then again, Principal Powers disapproved of all of Diana's choices in life, including her decision to start working part-time as a waitress, not as a necessity but to spend time away from her grandmother's suffocating expectations.

The night before, Linda explained a few things that would happen on Diana's first day, being as vague as possible "not to spoil the surprises of her first day," as she said, mainly reinforcing the school rules. Linda loved to tell Diana what she could and couldn't do, thinking that setting rules would keep her in control.

"Everything will be all right, dear," Linda tried to reassure. "If anything happens, a teacher will be there to help."

Diana highly doubted it but didn't say anything.

The two weren't all that close since the incident eight years ago that led Diana to pull away from everyone. Linda still tried to reach out to her granddaughter in her controlling and conservative way, not noticing that it only pushed them further apart.

Getting on the bus, the driver, Ron Wilson, a chubby man who clearly loved his job, greeted her cheerfully. It made her feel better seeing a friendly face.

Sitting at the far back, she opened her book, War and Peace, content in ignoring the students filling the vehicle until Ron grabbed everyone's attention.

"Everyone, it's Will Stronghold, son of the Commander and Jetstream!" He announced excitedly.

The said son was a bit of a scrawny boy with light-brown hair brushed to the side. His bright blue shirt with white and red short sleeves was a signature of his parents' colors. He was more cute than handsome and seemed embarrassed by the attention.

Behind him stood a girl with ginger hair tied in a pair of lower pigtails. Her bright green shirt paired with a skirt with flower embroidery over light jeans pants.

Those two were a colorful duo.

Diana didn't have much of an opinion about his parent's superheroes; she'd never met them, knowing what showed on the news only. She thought them flashy, and they liked to put on a show, but other than that, the arrival of Will Stronghold left her indifferent.
