Request from my nee-san MissyM1nx. Hope you enjoy! I don't know too much about Ace's character so sorry if this is too OOC. This takes place before Dandan "takes care" of Luffy.
"Hurry up (y/n)." complained your close friend Ace. You and Ace were told to catch food that morning, well, that was a lie. Ace was told to catch food, while you had nothing to do with the mountain bandits, therefore, did not have to do what they said. You loved spending time with Ace though, even though he could be rude sometimes, you knew that he was a good person at heart.
"S-sorry" you said while walking faster so that you were walking next to Ace. "How much do we need to catch today?" you asked curiously.
"Same as always." replied Ace
"How much is that?" you asked
"A lot" you rolled your eyes,
"I know that. How much?" A tick mark appeared above Ace's
head,
"We catch as much as we catch." grumbled Ace, obviously annoyed with you. You giggled a little, you might have been the only one that thought so but you thought that Ace could be very cute when he was angry. You poked his cheek,
"Okay okay, no need to get all grumpy." you said while giggling. This however did not make Ace any less annoyed with you.
"Why do you always gotta follow me around? Don't you have anything better to do?" Ace questioned. You shrugged,
"No not really." you replied. Ace started walking faster in an attempt to get rid of you. In return, you also walked faster, "Stop following me." grumbled Ace. You could see a bridge in the distance.
"Don't wanna." you giggled. Ace kept walking faster, still trying to get you to go away, you still kept following him. Ace gave a sigh,
"Just go away will you?! Why do you always gotta follow me around like some lost puppy?! It's annoying and creepy!" Ace regretted what he said immediately, he cringed, expecting you to cry. But you didn't, you just stopped walking and stood there in front of the bridge that you usually crossed with Ace. Ace turned around to look at you, "(y-y/n) I-I—-" Ace started to apologize but you clenched your hands into fists and interrupted him,
"Fine! If I'm so annoying then I'll just leave! I don't wanna spend time with a jerk like you anyways!" you yelled back before running back into the forest. "Jerk... Jerk..." you sniffled while running. You knew you were lying to yourself. You had, for a long time, a crush on the freckled boy. You knew you could never hate him, even if he did yell at you. 'I did yell back...' you thought. You stopped running and looked back, he was probably long gone by now, 'I'll just wait at Dandan's place. I'll apologize to him once he gets home.' You started walking to mountain bandits hideout to where you knew Ace would come home too.
While walking, you had lots of time to think. The things you were thinking were not the most positive though.
"W-what if he hates me now?" you thought, tears threatening to spill down your cheeks, he had yelled at you first but you imagine he was probably just grumpy that day. He had tried to apologize but you had yelled at him in return. You bit your lip to stop any whimpers from escaping your mouth.
After a bit you arrived at the mountain bandits hideout and waited outside. Yells and laughter could be heard from the most likely drunk bandits inside. It wasn't an ideal environment for a young girl but if Ace spent everyday here you guessed you could stay outside for a few hours.
