Jungkook sat in silence, looking ahead the entirety of the car ride. Jimin tried to lighten the mood halfway to his house; turning on the radio. Jungkook scoffed slightly at the slow pop song that sounded through the car, causing Jimin to turn it off as fast as he turned it on. Bad choice.
They pulled into the parking lot of the elder's apartment building, Jungkook looking around as Jimin pulled into his parking spot.
"You live here?" Jungkook asked, raising his eyebrows while looking out his window.
"Yeah? Is there something wrong with it?" Jimin questioned.
"It's just... nevermind." Jungkook shook his head and went back to his silence. He didn't know this guy or anything about him, why would he open up to him? The more he thought about it: what exactly did he know about Jimin? This could be a kidnapping for all Jungkook knew. Why did he agree to go with this stranger?
He reluctantly followed Jimin up the first two flights of stairs to the third floor of the building and down the dimly lit hallway. Jimin stopped at the door marked 'L' and unlocked it, flicking on the light switch as he entered. Jungkook stopped at the doorway, gripping the strap of his bag hanging on his shoulder tightly with both hands. He wasn't sure how he felt about this.
"What're you doing silly? Come in, make yourself at home." Jimin gestured the younger to enter the threshold. Jungkook looked sheepishly at him and hesitated once more before entering. The apartment smelt strongly of burnt food. The thought of food made Jungkook' s stomach growl.
"Good thing I'm making something to eat!" Jimin noticed the rumbling of the boy's stomach, heading into the kitchen. Jungkook stood in the doorway, still gripping tightly onto his bag.
"Close the door behind you! Seriously, make yourself at home Jungkook!" Jimin yelled from the kitchen. Jungkook closed the door and put his bag next to it. He turned around and looked for all the exits from the apartment in case he needed to leave quickly. A third story window wouldn't be the worst thing to jump out of. He proceeded to take in his surroundings, cautiously taking a few steps forward to get the full few of the new place. It was small, living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and what seemed like a single bedroom. But it seemed like a mansion to the boy, he hadn't been in a real home for a while.
"Do you like pasta?" Jimin called from the kitchen, Jungkook peered around the corner to see Jimin standing beside a pot of boiling water, another pan in his hand. The one he was holding was charred, a deep black crust engulfing the majority of the bottom of the object.
Jimin didn't hear a response so he walked out to the main room to see Jungkook standing idly, he could tell he felt uncomfortable. But this had to have been better than what the boy had previously endured and sure enough, it was.
"Really, make yourself at home. Come help me make dinner. We wouldn't want the pasta to turn out like how I tried earlier now would we?" Jimin chuckled, holding up the crisply burnt pan still in his hand.
Jungkook followed Jimin into the kitchen, trying to help cook as best he could. He didn't even know how to cook pasta. Jimin explained what happened earlier that night, even earning a small smile from the boy as he laughed at Jimin's forgetfulness. Or more like his inability to sleep properly.
The pair sat down at the table in the dining room after Jimin spooned each of them out a serving and grabbed a few drinks. Jungkook looked wearily at the food in front of him, waiting for Jimin to take a bite of his own just in case something were to have been in it. But after Jimin began to wharf down his serving, Jungkook began to do the same. He let his guard down momentarily: it'd been awhile since his last meal.
