April

Me and Fionn had been on a few dates, and the feeling was mutual between us. We had seen each other almost every day for 3 weeks before we drove to Pembroke cove for a walk along the coastline and we had the conversation of being exclusive, both agreeing it was too soon for a relationship but if we contained the way we were it would undoubtedly turn into that, we were on the same page, happy and enjoyed being with each other.

I had woke up with Fionn next to me and the sunlight peering through the mesh voiles that dropped over my bedroom window. I checked the time on my bedside clock and it read 8:56am, I sighed and rolled over to face Fionn who was now stirring and waking up.

"Good morning Camile"

"Morning, its almost 9" I said earning a sigh from him

"I'm going to have to leave pretty soon, Im meeting Adam this morning for breakfast, he's complaining I never see him anymore"

I laughed in response and got out of bed, reaching over to kiss his forehead as he stretched his arms above his head. I walked out of the romans Into the kitchen, flicking the kettle on. Fionn emerged from my room fully clothed and walked past to use the bathroom, brushing his teeth as the sound of the kettle drowned out the scrubbing.

"Tea?"

he shook his head with his toothbrush in his mouth and motioned to the door that he was leaving. Spitting the toothpaste out and coming back to the kitchen to kiss me goodbye, I poured the water in the mug, the string from the herbal tea hanging off the side of the mug and walked behind him to the front door, waving him off.

"Bye Fionn, enjoy breakfast"

"Thank you Camile, see you soon"

I didnt know when I would next see him, I hadn't got a job yet so my days were boring and I was available all the time, I was living off my savings and the money I made from my paintings. I started up my online store again but didnt have much motivation to paint so was only creating 2 or 3 a week. I decided today to go into town and buy new supplies in the hopes it would give me some artistic inspiration. Setting my tea down on my bedside table, I made the bed before throwing some jeans and a lilac knitted sweater onto it and my converse on the floor, threw my hair up in a bun before getting ready.

I brushed my teeth, grabbed my bag, phone and headphones and stepped outside to begin my walk. I held my phone in my hands and opened Spotify, The Ride out now, flashed upon my screen. The album was out and although I wanted to hate Van, my interest had peaked, I placed my earphones in my ears and hit play It was a pleasant walk, it was pretty and the trees started to turn into their prime for spring, I walked along Dawson street and turned onto a side street to avoid the crowds, for a Wednesday morning at 9:30am it was surprisingly busy and I wasn't one for crowds. A song called anything had ended so I looked down at my phone to see which was next, Glasgow. I took a deep breath and smiled to myself. The side street separating Dawson street and Grafton street was pretty and full of independent stores and coffee shops it reminded me a bit of Glasgow, as a result I felt my heart sink as I heard the lyrics Van was singing through my earphones and I missed Glasgow and I missed Van. Toward the end of the street, I noticed a coffee shop with red bricks on the exterior and a yellow door, I walked toward and peeked in the window, it looked nice with a few people in the queue which is always a good sign. I stepped inside and joined the back of the queue and turned the volume of my music down so I could hear what was going on around me. I stood behind a tall man with shaggy light brown hair, the door closed behind me and the man turned around at the sound of it.

"Camile?"

"Van?"
