Though the day ended in the favor of Adonis, Aphrodite, who has witnessed all of the events and has listened to every thought of Adonis, was starting to really hate Medusa and her existence.

She was having the hardest time hiding all the ill feelings of which was currently eating her heart and mind.

Before she did anything to alarm the other gods, Athena arrived in her presence. The goddesses bowed to each other as a sign of respect and greetings. They went to the Garden of Olympus, for there, they cannot be heard by the other gods.

"Aphrodite, I see that you are not well." Stated Athena.

"Of course, I am not well! How could I be well at such a time?!" Aphrodite all but yelled at her companion.

"You need not be so stressed about it, Aphrodite. Why do you fatigue yourself at such a tiny issue? Zeus was not acting like himself, blame is not to be his. What has happened called for such an occasion." was Athena's very calm reply.

Every god and goddess knew what has transpired earlier that day and had debated on what needed to happen.

"You had said that I had a point, yet you contradict me, yet again!" Aphrodite's reply was not less loud than before.

"You should calm your nerves, Aphrodite. You did have a point, but it is not enough for you to react this violently." Athena said

'And what happened to her is certainly not enough for her to win his affections so effortlessly!' Were Aphrodite's thoughts.

"You must understand, dear Athena, where I am coming from" Aphrodite said, in desperate need to persuade her friend to think similarly with her.

"How can I, Aphrodite, when I do not even know where you are coming from?" Athena replied

Aphrodite cannot speak anymore. For she knew that if she insisted deeper on the matter, Athena would catch on what the real issue is, and, knowing Athena, she would only reprimand Aphrodite from all she is thinking, and warn her of the punishments for it.

"You need not worry about that. You only need to support me of my decisions." Aphrodite stated

"When have I not supported you, Aphrodite? I have always been here for you. You have no right to question my loyalty and friendship to you."

"You must swear it to me, dear Athena. That you will stay on my side, no matter what happens. Give me your word."

"I know not of the reason you are suddenly acting like this, but I give you my word, dear friend. You shall have me even if all Olympus has turned their backs on you. I will not turn my back on my promise, I assure you. For that shall be most undignified for a goddess."

"Thank you." Aphrodite said.

The goddesses bowed to each other.

"I fear I must be going. A war about to happen between two very powerful kingdoms has caught my attention. I must go and see. Would it come upon you to accompany me?" Athena invited

"For what? To watch you bask in the gore and violence and your occasional insults here and there about their tactics? I am afraid not, Athena. You may go by yourself." Aphrodite answered with faked calmness and turned away.

"Alright. I shall not force you." Athena said as she bowed to Aphrodite's back and left.

Now that Aphrodite's alone with her thoughts, she could not help but be reminded of the happenings of the past day.

She could not accept it! She, a goddess, over thrown by a mere human? Of inferior birth, too! How could anyone compare her eternal beauty to Medusa’s? Surely, her beauty is beyond description and comparison. She was not crowned the goddess of beauty for nothing.

At that moment, guilt entered her heart. For she was not just crowned "The goddess of Beauty" but also as "The goddess of Love", and for her to think and feel the way she does makes her unworthy of her title.

But how can she think not?! Medusa is not even half the goddess she is.

She peeked at the man, Adonis, again and saw him gathering the wood as he was supposed to do the day before,

It was 7 hours after midnight and the sun was shining brightly over the forestry and glory of his part of the world.

As she watched the man from her distance, she could not help but be drowned by his presence. Adonis had everything Aphrodite could ask for in a man.

He had the strength of 20 men, the eyes as if from the color of the most beautiful oceans, so deep and compassionate, not to mention a body that can put even a god to shame. And, of course, an understanding mind, that is as of now filled with every thought of Medusa.

Aphrodite, filled with anger, suddenly yelled aloud.

"WHY?! WHY HER?!" She yelled.

This caught the attention of Cupid, the god of Love. Aphrodite's Parallel.

"What has gotten you in such faze, goddess Aphrodite?" Asked Cupid curiously, yet in a way that seems to mock the disheveled goddess.

This action of Cupid evidently enraged the goddess more.

"What is your business with me, Cupid?" Aphrodite asked him back in an irate manner.

"Why is it that you seem to hate me, goddess?" was Cupid's reply, still in a mocking gesture, flying around the goddess.

"That is of no truth, Cupid, you are knowledgeable as to that." Aphrodite said, trying her hardest not to show any form of anger to the mocking god, for she knows if she does, the god would tease her more.

"Oh, is that, so, goddess?" Cupid asked again, still teasing.

"Dear god, Cupid. I wish to have a private session with myself." Aphrodite all but begged.

"Of course, goddess. Your wish is my command. Though I do have something to tell you before my departure." the witty god asked.

"What is it?" Aphrodite replied to him, starting to get really mad at the persistent god.

Cupid flew around her again and stopped at her right ear.

"You should destroy the envy that is eating you up right this moment. Before you destroy yourself and the subject of your envy. It would be best to return to your duties as a goddess." the cunning god whispered in all mock.

Aphrodite gasped and faced the god, yet he was already flying away whilst playing with his lead arrow.

The goddess started to panic.

How did he know of her thoughts?

But she dismissed it. She knew that Cupid might be teasing but he is not one to blab about the things of which he is knowledgeable of. The goddess spoke to herself saying;

Do not worry. I shall return to my duties as the goddess of Love and Beauty once Medusa is out of the way.

****************Author's Note*****************************

Hey, guys! I am so sorry about the very very very late update.

I had a lot of things to do, and the worst thing I did was battle laziness. I am so sorry.

Hope you enjoy this chapter, though. :))

Lots of love to you guys! :***

P.S.

I know that Cupid is Aphrodite's son and that Athena and Aphrodite are sisters, but I thought that maybe twisting Greek Mythology might be a little fun, if not interesting. ;)
