( The next day on campus)
Patricia: Hey girl , you' ve been sleeping for so long. Are you okay, or do you need my help?
Kate: (smiles) How can you help me?
Patricia: ( laughs) Maybe you're hungry and need some food that you can't afford, perhaps.
Kate: (laughs) Excuse me ! Patricia, or whatever you call yourself , do I look hungry or poor to you?
Patricia: Sorry, Kate. I'm not sure , that's why I said "maybe."
Kate: well now you should be sure and apologize immediately.
Patricia: Anyway , sorry is not something I can say , but I'm going out with some friends at the school garden. You can join if you wish. Bye.
Kate: (full of anger , laughs , and says to her ) "you look good"
Patricia: Thanks , babe. ( And leaves the room)
(Agatha and Ann enter the room)
Kate: Hello.
Ann: Hey , you're finally awake.
Kate: obviously , baby.
Agatha: Getting ready for the outing ?
Kate: Yes , girl.
Ann: Wow! You look so beautiful.
Kate: thanks my love.
Agatha: So stunning! but why don't you wear white shoes instead of the black ones ?
Kate: I know white shoes would be more beautiful , but I love black , so I'm wearing black shoes. Besides , it macthes the outfit , right?
Ann: Yes , it does , and it looks beautiful , but I would prefer if you let your hair down instead of tying it up.
Kate: Yes , girl , that would be nice , but I need to tie it up because my hair is long and it will bother me if I don't. I won't feel comfortable at all.
Ann: oh , okay , but you still look good.
Kate: Thank you. So , I'll meet you girls there. I'm going. Bye.
Ann: Byee , see you.
Kate left the hostel for the school garden. She was looking for Patricia because she was probably the only person she knew there at the moment. She looked around but couldn't find her , so she decided to sit on a bench close to a group of friends who were busy talking and having fun. She sat there , busy on her phone , appearing as if she was waiting for someone.
She stayed there for a few minutes but didn't see any of her roommates. So she stood up and started walking around the garden. She noticed someone following her. She stopped and turned back to look at the person.
It was the guy who had been following her , and she recognized him as part the group of friends she had sat close to on the bench.
Theo: Hello , I'm Theophilus , but everyone calls me Theo.
Kate: I'm Kate.
Theo: Are you new here ?
Kate: Yes , and you ?
Theo: No , I'm not , so , do you have friends you're waiting for ?
Kate: Not really. I thought I would see my roommates , but I can't find them.
Theo: Okay , they're probably not here yet.
Kate: Yeah , that's true. So why did you leave your friends?
Theo: I didn't leave them. You looked new , so I came to ask if you'd like to join my group.
Kate: What group? And what's it about?
Theo: (smiling) My friends. We're just having a discussion for now , and soon everyone will spread around to make new friends. Maybe by then , you'll see your roommates too.
Kate: Alright , thank you. I'll follow you.
(Kate followed)
Kate followed Theo to where his friends were , and they welcomed her warmly. She was happy to be part of their group and made new friends , both male and female. After some time , everyone dispersed , and Kate and Theo decided to sit under a tree and have a conversation. They were close to where Kate's roommates were sitting. Immediately , the three girls noticed them.
Patricia: "oh Ann , look ! There's Kate , the one you were looking for."
Ann: " hmm , my dear , I saw her too."
Agatha: " I knew it ! I know this girl is just here because of boys. She couldn't look for us or become friends with a female but became friends with the hottest guy in this school. I just knew it. She is a prostitute."
Patricia: " Ah , that's harsh , Agatha. You can't just label someone like that. Calm down."
Ann: " My dear , Agatha , besides all these things you're saying , there is just something about this girl that seems different to me."
Patricia: " come on , why are you acting like as if she's a special child or a goddess on earth that we all need to know about?"
Ann: " I didn't say she's a goddess. What I meant is that she is confident. You won't believe it , but when she was getting dressed , Agatha and I were giving her suggestions , and she insisted on wearing what she wanted. She's like too beautiful or too good , I don't even know. There's just something about her , please."
Patricia: (laughs) " Ann , honestly speaking , right now it's you who thinks there's something special about her that we all need to know."
Agatha: " I don't care who she is , who she was or who she's going to be . All I know is that she should leave that boy , or else I'm going to have a problem with her in this school."
Patricia: (hisses) " please , I need some asses to grab , not all this talk ." ( She left to join the dance floor)
After the whole garden party , they all went back to their hostels. Kate didn't owe anyone an explanation , so she didn't join their late night discussions to answer any questions about what happened at the garden. Instead , she went to bed to get ready for the activities of the next day.
