A huge ticking bomb of thrill had laid hidden within the stadium until it eventually burst, filling the place with even more turmoil and tension. Words of encouragement echoed through the whole stadium and reverberated off the walls before they drowned in more jubilation.
Y/n had been to many small soccer games before, but this time, the amount of visitors left her astounded. It shouldn't surprise her since the U-20 team was one of the playing teams, the Blue Lock Eleven's opponent. However, she didn't expect so many people to spend a huge sum of money on a football game.
Both, Y/n and Meguru's mother, lowered themselves into their seats in the front row, waiting for the match to commence.
The U-20 team consisted of the most skilled players in Japan and was known in the entire country. At first, Y/n strongly believed in Meguru's and his teammates' capabilities, but as soon as the players made an entrance onto the freshly mowed field, that belief slowly faded.
They were not to be underestimated.
Y/n brushed her thoughts away. She was there to support and cheer for her friend and not to lose faith in his abilities and doubt him. Alone the fact that the Blue Lock Eleven even managed to arrange a game with a team of so much glory was enough evidence that the players were at least on the same niveau.
Whenever she'd watch Bachira during his soccer training, he was just playing around with the ball. Did he possess more skills to show off? After all, just messing around with a ball and doing cool little tricks was surely not enough to be qualified as the U-20 team's equal.
It required more than that.
Judging by what she had seen of him so far, his play style appeared to be more playful and not rational, more wild and not calculated. And every time he started playing and kicking, it always ended up with Megu and the ball entwining into a fiery dance, sparks of passion scattering all over their surroundings.
Y/n had a feeling that whenever Bachira played soccer, everything around him would become something tiny and trivial to him. It was just him and his football and the joy that filled his body.
As Y/n's gaze wandered across the whole place, she noticed that the majority of the soccer fans were on the opponent's side, waving their flags and wearing their jerseys. Her friend's mother, too, seemed to notice that when Y/n felt her gently tapping her shoulder.
"Let's put in even more effort to support our Meguru, okay dear? We're gonna cheer louder than the whole stadium." The girl liked the look on her face. The confident and determined one. It was as though she already knew that Blue Lock would win. As though she could predict the future.
"Yes," Agreeing with her, she nodded her head. "Let's support him with all we've got." The game was about to start in a few and the girl could sense the tickling sensation brewing in her stomach. She clutched her shirt with trembling hands, her lips pressing into a beaming smile.
