reese's pov-
after i got on the bus, all of my siblings came out and handed dad their stuff.
ren- HEY REESIE! ARE YA EXCITED?
ross- chill out ren.
ren- how about, NO.
ross- whatever i tried.
reese- OF COURSE I'M EXCITED. we are going across the country.
ross- yeah for 37 hours.
reese- thank god i only have my permit, therefore, i won't have to be part of the co-driving system.
okay so everytime we go on road trips, and they're this long, we do a co-driving system. basically dad starts off driving, and after about 4 hours he swaps with one of the kids that has a license. and they cannot have a fresh license i mean like 3 years of a license. bc a bus is hard to drive. iykyk. it starts with dad, then goes to ross, then goes to capron, then goes to riker, then goes to rocky, then goes to ryland, and if it's any longer, it goes to ren, then to rydel, then mom, then it ends off with dad again.
ren- ugh. i hate the co-driving system.
reese- it's actually quite efficient though.
ren- true true.
ren sat down across from me in her little cubby.
each seat is like a cubby, underneath it it has a place to store a blanket, pillow, backpack, snacks, and shoes. so it's really organized. and there are like walls separating each seat, that's why we call them cubbies. it's like first class in a plane, the walls can be moved up and down for privacy, whenever you want. plus there's like a door that can come up out of the floor to cover the front of the cubby, for extra privacy.
ross- hey reese, do you care if jaz and i sit beside you?
i pointed at him- no, but this is directed to you, don't talk my head off.
ross- okay fine.

after everyone's stuff had been put away, we were ready to go.
dad started driving out of the neighborhood. and mom stood up and faced all of us.
mom has a microphone, that she announces things into while we are going somewhere, it's mainly so she can tell us plans, where we are, and give us a five minute heads up that we will be stopping so we can get our shoes on.
mom- okay, everyone listen up. as all of you know, i did not buy any groceries before this trip, mainly because we are going to be gone all summer, plus we will go grocery shopping whenever we get there. but because of this, dad and i have decided that we will let each of you go into the grocery store, and buy whatever you may need for the 37 hours we will be on here. we will make stops to the gas station, but the whole point behind this is to not buy random junk at gas stations. so everyone will be given 50 dollars, to buy whatever you may need. i will come hand the envelopes out with the money in them, and in about 5 minutes we will be there, so please put on your shoes.
