Twenty two

My parents texted me saying they had just landed in Chicago and that they are going to get settled into there hotel and come see me and meet Patrick. I was frantically cleaning my house even though it was clean I had to make sure it was my moms version of clean. There was a knock at my door I freaked out thinking it was my parents I looked through the peep hole it was Patrick with a bouquet of flowers. I opened the door
"You look great." I smiled kissing his lips
"So do you, I brought these for you," he smiled handing me the flowers
"Your so sweet." I smiled
"So what can I do to help you?" He asked
"Umm you can help me cut meat and vegetables for the appetizers." I said rushing to the kitchen
"Ok, hey calm down its gonna be fine." he smiled kissing me
"I know I know I just wanna make sure this place is clean and ready for them." I smiled
"I know you are but you stressing about nothing this place is spotless if you really wanna stress why don't you come clean my place." he laughed grabbing a cutting board
I grabbed some vegetables and crackers and I put Patrick in charge of cutting all of it. I ran to my room and got changed into jeans and a shirt with an eagle on it. I ran back to the kitchen, I had one text message they were about twenty minutes away.
"Twenty minutes." I said putting vegetables on plate
"Ok." he smiled putting the cutting board and knife in the dishwasher
I sat on the counter in the kitchen, Patrick walked over to me and put his hand on my cheek lifting my head to look at him, he kissed my lips again.
"There's nothing to worry about." he said again in a soft tone
I looked up at him and looked deep into his eyes, I could see everything from those eyes our future together his future as a hockey player, my future as a nurse and I loved it. i stayed like that in the kitchen while Patrick whispered consoling words to me, there was a knock on the door.
"Here we go." I smiled jumping off the counter
I walked to the door and unlocked it and then opened it.
"Mom, dad how are you guys." I said hugging them
"You look so good Dylan oh my gosh, your glowing." my mom said
"Thank you, come on in guys" I said opening the door wider
I walked into the main entrance of the apartment and looked into the kitchen Patrick was grabbing a glass of water, I waved him over. my parents took there shoes off.
"Wow this is such a nice place." my dad said
"Thank you, and I have someone I want both of you to meet, this is Patrick my boyfriend." I smiled nervously
"Nice to meet you Dylan's told me so much about you." smiled Patrick shaking their hands
"I hope it's nice things." smiled my mom
"Extremely nice." he smiled
"come into the living room I have some appetizers out." I smiled leading my parents in
They walked into the living room
"Wow such and amazing place. especially for an apartment." my mom said sitting on one of the chairs
"Ya I love it it's perfect." I smiled happily sitting next to Patrick on the couch
"So how did you two meet." my dad said grabbing some appys
"Umm actually I live in an apartment above here, and I noticed Dylan down in the Starbucks and asked her out." smiled Patrick
"Well isn't that odd, i'de expect a player of your contract pay to be in a mansion." said my dad
