Kisame POV

It was a long day. Successful, but long. Kisames mission took him to the land of water this week, where he shadowed a merchant to gather intel on some suspicious trades. No fighting, just hiding and listening and sending notes back to Pein. Not at all the kind of work he enjoyed. Normally he was the one protecting intel, not gathering it. When did he turn from a warrior, one of the great ninja swordsmen, into some errand boy?

Kisame sighed and rubbed his neck while he was slowly walking through the forest on his way back to the Akatsuki hideout. No need to rush since he told the group he would take the rest of the week off after this shitty job. Also no need for them to know that he was in a bad mood because yet again, he took a liking to a girl he saw in the village but after he gave her the best night of her life, she basically dumped him because she didn't want to be with a "shark monster". He felt the sharp edges of his teeth with his tounge. He could still hear her moans when he teased her nipples with them, but the next day she found them hideous.

Either they run right away, or they play out their kinks with me and dump me afterwards.

Nobody stuck around. Of course, Kisame didn't mind the sex, but at the end of the day, that's all it ever was.

He noticed how the faint sound of water got louder as he moved towards it. Maybe a river? It was time for a break anyways, he thought. Maybe even a swim.

When he started to see the turquoise water through the branches, he took a minute to listen out for signs of any other people around him before he stepped through an opening and onto the beach. The spot seemed secluded and he knew he was relatively far from the nearest village at this point, so he carefully put down Samehada and took off his coat. He placed his shirt and his trousers neatly onto the coat so that the red Akatsuki Symbols were covered, just in case anyone curious did come around.

After the first few steps into the river though, something changed. He did suddenly feel somebody closeby. He could sense a light, innocent chakra and he knew that Samehada could too. And sure enough, a few seconds later a girl emerged from behind a rock, maybe 20 meters from him.

How did I miss her before?

He could see the familiar reaction of somebody seeing his (almost) naked body for the first time. She didn't look scared, so she was probably into the whole "big bad shark" vibe he gave off. Whatever happened next, that was something he could use to his advantage.

Taking a closer look while she slowly leaned into the rock, he noticed her toned body and the Shinobi headband she had tied around her neck like a chocker. She was small and slender but definitely looked like she could put on a fight if she had to. Her curves were showing off in the short, green dress she was wearing and her red, braided hair reached just below her breasts.

Damn, she is gorgeous. Just for a second, Kisame was startled.

She pinned him down with her golden eyes. "I wouldn't go any further, if I was you."

A threat? She didn't look serious enough for it. A joke? If so, he didn't get it. Kisame decided to play the flirty card. Better to keep it light than to get into the "Who are you?" part.

"And if I didn't, would I get to spend some time with you, doll?" he said putting on his best smirk.

She chuckled for a second but quickly went back to a fierce smile "If you didn't, you get to live another day, babe" putting a joking emphasis in the  "babe".

She took a step forward. Tension lingered in the air. The type of tension you could feel before the start of a fight.

Maybe she has seen the Akatsuki Symbols? Does she recognise me? Is she really going to attack just like that? Kisame wondered.

He noticed the kunai poking out underneath her skirt, tightly attached to her perfectly shaped legs. Pretty hot, actually. He had a thing for feisty women that could keep up with his temper.

His body started heating up a bit, his muscles tensing up but he tried to cool himself down with a slow and deep breath since he was aware of his pants getting tighter by the second. Her eyes darted downwards and she blushed a little, before she looked away and lifted the tension by saying "Look, jokes aside, this river is treacherous. You might get pulled under water by the streams if you're not careful."

Now Kisame noticed the subtle pull of the stream around his legs. It was indeed fairly strong and he could sense the currents getting even stronger under the surface. For the second time today, he was startled and took a step back towards the beach. It's not like the river could have ever swept him away, with water being his natural element, but it still felt nice for a moment to be cared for. He could think of tens, if not hundreds of people who would happily stand by and watch him drown. Not that he could blame them, after all there was a reason people called him the monster of the hidden mist.

Kisame scratched his neck. He wasn't used to this kind of situation. "Well, uhm, thank you." He mumbled and walked out of the water, getting a few steps closer to the mistery girl. She didn't move backwards as many girls would and answered his thanks with a slight nod.

"I guess you're my guardian angel today".

He chuckled as he saw her eyes sparkle. "A cute one as well." he added. That made her laugh and my god, her laugh was the sweetest sound he had ever heard. So warm, so lively, like a million little bells ringing.

"Nonsense. I'm Kamiko." She said and relaxed her stance while she took a careful step towards him. She didn't seem scared at all, and the way she smiled at Kisame almost made him blush.

I wonder what's going through that pretty head of hers.

"Kamiko - as in, little goddess?" He asked. Seems fitting.

"Yeah, the one and only."
