Chapter 8

"You... don't have to worry about me. I'm not hungry." Marcus replied as Damon stood up making him wrapp his legs around him so he wouldn't fall.

"I know I dont have to but I want to so I'm going to. Now what do you want for lunch? You need food." Damon replied knowing that while in a heat like this the Omegas or Betas don't normally want to eat instead they want to just cuddle and be given affection.

"M' not hungry." He muttered back as Damon wrapped his arms under Marcus's thys so keep him up.

"How about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? It's small but it's food." Damon asked knowing that Marcus wouldn't eat any food on his own.

At least that's what his class taught him.

"Fine." Marcus muttered, he really didn't want to eat because they might have to stop cuddling but if Damon wanted him to eat then he would.

While in heat his mind was foggy most of the time and he almost never had his right mind judgment. If he had then he wouldn't be cuddling Damon and probably would have sent him home so he wouldn't have to deal with him.

Damon smiled lightly and started to make himself and Marcus pb&j sandwiches, Marcus telling him where everything is.

After they had their food Damon brought them back to the couch.

"Do you want to sit in my lap and eat or do you want to sit next to me?" Damon asked not really knowing which Marcus would prefer.

"Do you mind if I stay in your lap?" Marcus asked back as he lifted his head from Damon's shoulder to look him in the eyes.

"If I would be against it then I wouldn't have offered it. I don't mind." He replied as he sat down, Marcus landing on his lap.

Marcus blushed at his question now realizing that Damon was right and it was a pretty stupid thing to ask.

The two ate their lunch in a comfortable silence until Damon asked the question that had been bugging him since he ended the call with Flura.

"Fo you mind if I ask you a question?" He asked not sure if Marcus would be okay with being asked any questions.

"Nope, ask away." Marcus replied as he put the crust to his sandwich down onto his plate before cuddling back up to Damon.

"Why did you purr when I growled at Flura earlier?" He asked, it confused him as to why anyone would purr loudly at a slightly angry alpha's growl.

"Well there are two reasons. The one that I did it for was to try and get you to calm down, I didn't want you upset at Flura. Then the second reason is from my inner Beta, the vibrations your chest made from the growl was comforting and you being protective over me was nice to..." Marcus said the last bit quietly before trailing off.

Even though he said it quietly if Damon had been five feet away he still would have been able to hear it thanks to his heightened hearing.

He smiled at the thought of Marcus's inner Beta feeling protected by him.

"That makes sense." He said softly as he ran his hand through Marcus's short hair.

"Hmm." The smaller hummed in appreciation as he nuzzled impossibly closer to him.

Damon finnished his sandwich quickly after that before wrapping both of his arms around Marcus's torso and pulling him so they were flushed against each other again.

He then layed them down onto the couch, Marcus now laying ontop of him.

"How about we watch a movie?" Damon asked while picking up the remote.
