I just simply couldn't take my mind off that call last night.
Who would call in the middle of the night, and admit his crush?
The next day in math class, after I finished my quiz, I checked my phone to see if he left a number.
As soon as I turned on my phone, I was alerted that I had 6% battery life left.
Great. Fu*king great.
I quickly opened up my calling app and looked at my recent calls.
(567)-893-4202. Sweet.
I checked my watch, only 3 minutes left in class, I think I have enough time to make the call.
Quickly, I dialed the number and held my iPhone up to my ear.
*Ring* *Ring*
hurry up. please hurry up! my battery is going to die!
*Ring* *Ring--
I looked at my screen. It was blank. Darn it! It's dead. Stupid caller didn't pick up. Now I have to wait til I get home to charge it.
I grunted and slipped my phone into my hoodie's kangaroo pocket.
I love these jackets!!

"So, Jackson, what should we do for our project?" I droned. Uh! History! In the Great Depression!uh!
He frowned and said perkily, "Sorry, I don't get this project. And anyways, you're the straight- A student aren't you Jess? The one who brags a lot."
I looked at him rudely for making that last comment.
"Well, I don't really want to take control of this project, but, how about we research about when Ebola broke out and explain the symptoms. Then act out a family who suffers from it and mourn over their dead family member, diagnosed with Ebola. Then the father invents the cure to Ebola and commits suicide for not inventing it sooner to save his son.
And Mr. Fielder said we could have friends to help play parts as long as. They get permission form their teacher. I'm sorry I just put this all together you cannot make any changes yoursel-" I cut myself off before he could."I just took control of the whole project, didn't I?" I whispered quietly.
Jackson nodded real slow but then quickly added, "But I like it Jess-y, good job! Now I'll bring my buds to help us do our play. Nice work. See you tomorrow with the props." And with that he winked and stood up, the bell ringing the second he steps out of the door. As if on Que.
I closed my mouth quickly because i had opened it to tell Jackson NOT to call me Jessy. Only my parents, Lisa, and Chase can call me that.

The next day At lunch time............
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss!!!!" Lisa screeched across the cafeteria, her boyfriend, Marcus, at her side.
But seriously, that boy accompanies her way to much, I swear he's drooling now............
"Uh, yes Lisa?" I stammered quietly, very aware that someone who should not be hearing our business was standing right there. (Marcus, if you haven't picked up the hint.)
Lisa tossed her hair and said, "You know exactly what I'm asking you, Jessica." True. I did. But like anyone who's afraid to disappoint her friend and trying to prove she can fit in, I avoided the subject.
"Um, what perhaps are you talking about?" Everyone who knows Lisa knows she hates playing dumb. But what other choice do I have?
"Come on, Jess. Now or never. Or were done." She smirked. But then turned to Marcus, who was actually currently staring at me...... And said, "Not you sweetie. I love u so much!" And planted a little kiss on his cheek.
"Fine, Lisa, I'm gonna ask out Jackson. But you have to help in our play for history."
Lisa snorted. "I don't do things back for people. I just get what I want and don't give anything in return. Simple."
That's the catch about Lisa. She's rich so she is never used to giving things back.
