I never really had one. A home. As for a house, I've had plenty of those. But never a home. I know there's some kind of difference. 5 years have past since that day in the hospital. And I still haven't figured out what that difference is. But I know one thing.

I really want one.

My thoughts were interrupted by shouting.

"Snap out of it and get over here you piece of crap!"

I shook off the thought and hurried over to Brenda.
Her pale, sickly, bony, body glowed in the moonlight. Only a small portion of it covered by a stringy black dress. Resembling a well dressed zombie.
She almost looked like she belonged here, just over that fence.

"Make yourself useful and get us into that graveyard damn it!"
Spit hit my face as she pointed a skinny finger at the locked gates in front of us.

I didn't dare sigh as I made my way to the rusty gated entrance.

As I passed her she slapped me on the back of my head.
"Pick up the pace! We don't have all night!"

My eyes darted to the floor as I sprinted across the pavement.

At the gate there was some sort of pin number security system.

I did a quick check of my surroundings
before setting my hand on the device.

I shut my eyes focusing all my energy on it.

A few moments passed

White lights flooded the backs of my eyelids.

I slowly removed my hand.

I felt a slight breeze as the massive gates swung open.

Brenda threw her cigarette at me as she passed.
"Well it took yah long enough."

-------------------------------------------------------

A bit later a grimy white van showed up.
Right on time.

Brenda's cheap heels click clacked toward the trunk of the vehicle.

Her skeleton hands swung the squeaky doors open to reveal 3 guys.
Her latest crew.

I felt sorry for them, they've only had this gig for roughly 2 weeks.
At least that's longer than the last.

A wrinkly smile stretched across Brenda's face as her eyes slowly passed each of their horrified faces.

"I'm glad you all could make it on such a short notice." An unnatural croaking laugh escaped her dried lips.

Her face then snapped back quickly into its usual scowl.

"Worthless!!! Get over here now!"

I sprinted down the sidewalk away from the open gates and toward the rusting van in a matter of seconds.

I didn't need to ask her why she called me. I already knew.
And I wasn't looking forward to it.

A nasty yellow smile stretched over her face.
"Say hello to our guests." Her tone was mocking and so forcefully gentle it sounded angry.

She gestured her skeleton hand toward the inside of the van.

I held in a sigh as I dragged my heavy feet in front of the van opening. Revealing myself for the first time to the Crew.

Snorts and snickers broke out among the tied up men.

One of them dared to speak up.
"Is this a joke?"

Another continued more boldly.
Dangerously bold.
"Where's the pack of hungry wolves. Or the nuclear bomb you would strap us to. Or the volcano to through us in." He chuckled again as he looked at the 5 year old boy in front of him.

Brenda just continued smiling as she turned around and walked in the other direction. That was my signal. I had to do it now.

I scrunched my eyes shut tight.

I felt my body start burning up.

Like fire was in my viens.

I opened them back up wide.

I could barely see through my foggy eyes.

Suddenly three faces of pure terror came into view.

Only one word manged to escape my lips before I blacked out.

"Ssssorry..."

Thier screams were the last thing I heard.
