Chapter 39: Briar & The Storybook of Legends!

Briar was thinking about Apple and the storybook of legends. "I can't believe what I said to her. I mean she deserved it. She way more then deserved it. But she is or was my bffa. I've always been there for her and she's always been there for me. Even though she can be totally selfish and self centered. I understand her and she understands me. Maybe I should give her another chance. No, that'll be crazy. But I do miss her. Fine. This is what I'm going to do. If she stops trying to make everyone miserable so she can be happy and if she stops trying to make everyone do something they don't want to do we'll be bffa's again. Just like old times. I hope." Briar thought to herself.
           "Hey Briar." Apple said walking up to Briar from behind. Briar turned around to face her. "Oh hey Apple." Briar said. "So, I've decided to let everyone choose their own destiny. Your right. I haven't been acting like the fairest of them all and if I want to be it then I'll have to act it. I'm sorry. Forgive me?" Apple asked. "You are the fairest of them all." Briar said. Briar hugged Apple and Apple hugged her back.
         They locked arms and started walking. "So, what did change your mind?" Briar asked. "You." Apple answered. "Me? What did I do?" Briar asked. "What you said the other day." Apple replied. Briar and Apple both smiled. They're happy to be friends again.
          "Briar. Come to my office. Now!" Headmaster Grimm ordered. Briar entered his office having a theory of what this is about. "Yes?" Briar asked. "About the storybook of legends. You said you won't sign because you don't want to be a sleep for a hundred years and miss all of your friends." Headmaster Grimm said. "Yes." Briar said. "Well, your with Hopper Croakington. He could wake you right away and you won't miss a thing." Headmaster Grimm offered. "But what if it turns out that he's not my true love. I mean I won't be able to live if Hopper isn't my true love. I'm suppose to be awaken by true loves kiss. I don't know what would happen if that person isn't Hopper." Briar said. "Don't you love taking risk? This is just another risk." Headmaster Grimm said. "But maybe I don't want to take this risk." Briar said. "You know when you found your true love. You just.... Know." Headmaster Grimm said. Briar sighed. "I'll think about it." Briar said as she left.
           Briar was playing around with her food with her fork. Briar sighed and Apple walked up to her with her tray of food. "What's wrong?" Apple asked. "It's just. Grimm wants me to sign because Hopper can wake me and I won't have to be a sleep for a hundred years and miss my friends. But what if Hopper isn't my true love. I have to be awaken by true loves kiss, but if he can't wake me with a kiss on the lips then it means he's not my true love. I don't think I could survive that. I love him with all my heart and even if he's not the one who kissed me and woke me up I would want to be with him. But if I sign and he doesn't wake me then I have to marry the guy who woke me. But how would I even know if he's my true love in advance.  Grimm said that I would just know. But how would I just know. It doesn't make any since." Briar said with tears streaming down her face.
          "It's okay. Close you eyes." Apple said. "What?" Briar asked. "Trust me." Apple said with a giggle. Briar took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Now imagine you. By yourself.    Asleep under the sleeping curse. Then a guy came. He's your knight in shining armor. He kissed you gently but passionately on the lips it was short but good. You didn't wake right away and it scared him. But then you opened your eyes slowly and you met his. Your eyes were locked and neither one of you guys looked away. You both smiled and you sat up. Now. Who is that guy you see?" Apple asked. "Hopper. Hopper Croakington." Briar responded. Briar opened her eyes and smiled. She turned half of her body to see that her knight in shining armor is a couple of tables over talking to his friends. Briar turned back over to Apple. "Go." Apple nudged Briar to go with a laugh.
             Briar went over to Hopper. "Hopper, could I talk to you for a sec?" Briar asked. "Sure." Hopper said getting up. Briar took Hopper's hand and walked him to the hallway. Then, when no one was around, Briar kissed Hopper passionately. "What was that for?" Hopper asked. Briar took a deep breath because she knew she was going to do a lot of talking. Briar told Hopper everything that happened with headmaster Grimm and with the vision Apple helped her find. When she finished she finally let out a big breath. "Wow." Hopper said. Briar laughed and so did Hopper. They both smiled and then had a make out session in the hallway.
              Knock, knock. "Come in." Headmaster Grimm said while doing Paperwork. When Briar entered his office his head shot up and he put down his pen. He crossed his arms and layed back in his chair. "Yes Miss. Beauty?" Headmaster Grimm asked. "Well, I found out that Hopper is my true love and I just wanted to say that.... I want to sign the storybook of legends." Briar said with a big smile. "That's great Miss. Beauty."   Headmaster Grimm said. "We'll do the ceremony tomorrow. A week before school ends." Headmaster Grimm said. He shook hands with her and she left happy.
              Briar's trying to find Apple. "Apple. There you are." Briar said running up to her and giving her a hug. "Wow! What is this about?" Apple asked almost loosing her balance. "I've decided to sign the story book of legends." Briar said happy. "Oh my gosh that's great. Wait. Your not doing this just for me are you? I care about you and I don't want you to be unhappy. I have now realized that just because you don't sign doesn't mean your story will cease to exit." Apple said. "I did not do this for. I did it for me. It is my destiny after all." Briar said. They hugged and laugh. "I'm going to go tell Hopper." Briar said. "Okay. Have fun." Apple said laughing.
                "Hey Hopper." Briar said waving. "Oh hey Briar. You look smoking. I mean.... Oh know." Hopper said before he turned into a frog. Briar laughed and picked him up and then kissed him. "You know you don't have to act like that around me anymore. I'm your girlfriend and I'm in love with." Briar said. "I'm in love with you too." Hopper said. They hugged and then kissed. "I'm signing the storybook of legends." Briar said. "Really? What changed your mind? Hopper asked. "Oh nothing. Just realized my destiny and path." Briar said.
            The next day Briar did indeed sign the story book of legends. She was happy about it this time.
