The Party

Aurora followed closely behind Wanda, walking beside Pietro. As they entered the Common room, they could hear quiet music playing. They were surrounded by people, too many people. Aurora quickly realized she had regretted her decision to come to this party, she tried to walk back to her room. However, her attempt failed because Pietro grabbed her wrist to stop her from leaving. "Come on, it's okay. " -

Looking back Aurora wishes she hadn't taken the boys hand that night. Maybe if hadn't his death wouldn't have hurt her so bad. Maybe if she hadn't she wouldn't have to worry about having the reputation with the public that she has now.

This sentence reminded Aurora of a memory she thought she had buried deep. She paused for a moment stuck in her head, before seeing the worried look on Pietro's face.  Pietro moved his hand from her wrist to her hand and they walked into the Common room together. There was Maria and a few other former SHIELD workers standing at the bar. Natasha was sitting at the bar as well, whispering to Steve and Clint. Natasha looked stressed or worried. Why? Was she okay? Aurora wondered. Clint and Steve seemed to be fine though, maybe they were just better at hiding their worries. Sam was talking to Thor and James, trying to impress them with a story. Tony and Bruce were speaking to a few people Aurora hadn't recognized. She assumed they were random colleagues of the AVENGERS or former SHIELD members. There was another teenager over there though. He looked to be about her age, maybe a year younger? Tony put his hand on the teenager's shoulder while speaking, he looked happy. The boy was wearing a polo shirt underneath a sweater and khakis.

Who was he? What was Tony saying?

Wanda sat down next to Vision on the couch, leaving Pietro and Aurora alone. Pietro had noticed the boy who Tony was standing next to, he also noticed the look on Aurora's face after seeing them. "Who cares," Pietro said to Aurora. "I'll go get us drinks, yeah?" He looked at Aurora before speeding to the bar and speeding back. "Some liquid courage." Pietro didn't exactly know what that meant, but he had heard someone say it in a movie. He smiled at Aurora while handing her a shot. They did cheers then drank the shots. Aurora and Pietro coughed not realizing what alcohol tasted like.

"What do you think they're talking about?" She asked Pietro referring to the group of three at the bar whispering. Pietro shrugged. "Aurora, we're at a party with music, alcohol, in this fancy ass building. Have fun, nothing's going to happen, and if something does, I'll be here to protect you. I'm practically your knight in shining armor." Pietro smirked and flexed his muscles. Aurora looked at Pietro for a moment before letting out her laugh. She grabbed Pietro's hand to go sit on one of the couches that weren't as crowded. Although she was still curios of the trio at the bar, she tried to stay in a good mood for Pietro. She wasn't going to make him worry.

Natasha sat at the bar fidgeting with her drink while looking over at each of the teenagers ever so often. "This doesn't feel right." Clint said leaning forwards onto the bar. "I know. You should've heard Aurora today." Natasha said looking down at her cocktail. "I know it's a little soon to be throwing a party, but we need to get them comfortable around us, especially since they're going to be joining the team." Steve added to the conversation. "Yeah, I guess so. A party is a party, I'm not gonna complain. As long as there's alcohol you both know I'm good." Clint said to the two while walking to the other side of the bar to make himself a drink.
